Thanks!

mad they were selling 8 (4+4free) for £3.49 in the shop!!

Buy rechargeables. You'll save money in the long run and they won't end up in a landfill quite so quickly.

Not everything works well on 1.2v...

Not everything works well on 1.2v...

Give me some examples. This is largely a myth, especially when you bear in mind that disposables will spend much of their time giving out 1.2V or less anyway.

Why don't you just buy a second set of rechargeables and get your kids to swap them between toys and charger? :?

Just ordered some...

For info, currys allows you to reserve up to 5 packs

Just ordered 3 packs for pick up. Swansea store has stock.

My nitro fuel RC buggy, truck and touring cars don't like 1.25volts! I have to recycle(not landfill lol) my duracells at 12.5volts!:):):)

SUPER HOT deal ... i bought about 100 pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Cough* Bs *Cough*, why dont you give US some examples where you can stick a 1.2v rechargeable in a camera which has single or multi-flash? see if it last half as long.. **
alternatively.. prove that a decent disposable batt will spend much of their time with 1.2v or less.. I dont know about you but when you use high powered apps with batt's they last until they're on their last legs..
google up at the discharge patterns of disposable vs rechargeable batts sometime yeah? then spout otherwise.

**NB I am purely comparing Ni-MH/Ni-Cad batts vs alkaline disposable (and NOT Li-po, Li-ion etc..)

Ordered thanks!
Heat added.

Ordered, thanks for posting. heat added

Dont forget, when the batteries are empty to take them to any supermarket or highstreet store for recycling. As from 1st Feb - all house-hold batteries can now be recycled

Eneloop are HOT, Duracell at any price are COLD.

Save your wallet and save the planet by not buying disposeables.

I don't have to. It will last approximately as long - voltage is not the same thing as capacity. Elementary electrical theory.

And the terminal voltage of disposables will droop under load because of their higher internal resistance. Sticking a meter on them, seeing 1.5V and concluding that that is what you get is naive.

I really don't understand why people have a mental block about rechargeables. Do they really think it's better to lug enormous numbers of disposables back from the supermarket at more than ten times the cost? What's going on in their heads?

Ok then: look ]here - first graph (ignore the purple curve - it's for lithium). You're talking about high-powered applications so 2A is quite acceptable. Now how long do the alkaline cells stay at 1.5V eh? And compare that with the last graph (same discharge current; NiMH). That cell will have cost less than a penny to recharge. No contest!

Just ordered 5 from Currys, I use a load of these..... Heat and Rep... cheers Op

Just reading the rechargeable debate... I use a lot of AA's and AAA's in some of my remote firings systems (I run a Fireworks Display company) and believe me rechargables last approx 1/4 of what a brand new one of these does.... I have bucker loads of high capacity rechargables and they're now resigned to the draw....

I really cba today, so im just going to make it short. Retailers results are not really viable for justification.. esp. if they're trying to sell their own brand.

IMO li-ions are the way forward, alkaline AND Ni-MH will be on its way out... as li-ion has much more bang for buck, unfortunately that requires better voltage/current regulators..

Guess you can take my word (or not), I have done research & field test of Ni-Mh and Ni-Cad in the past, yes the bunny hops for longer with alkaline as opposed to Ni-Mh. Ni-Mh has a earlier drop off compared to Ni-Cad, Ni-Cad acts similar to Alkaline in the sense of power dissipation. IF Ni-Cads hasnt got the blasted memory effect it'll be a winner still.
in RE to your capacity blah blah something, look at power equation, its not only capacity is not the only factor, there's resistance and voltage too. If you dont understand something you can always PM me and I might get back to you.

But mine are 12 packs AA ultra, just wanted to know if currys pulled a fast one on me

Inquisitor;7890605

I really cba today

"Why has the ‘M3’ been removed from the Duracell Ultra name?

It was decided to remove ‘M3’ to reduce any consumer confusion and to clarify Duracell Ultra’s premium positioning."
