Just aquired one of these from Home Bargains, will be quite handy for camping expeditions etc..

They do these in blue or bright yellow; all the boxes show images of the blue unit but a blue or yellow sticker on the lid denotes the colour. I just bought one of the yellow ones as they are much easier to find in complete darkness or in the event of power cut. I intend to use it for camping and outdoors. It has a durable finnish with rubberised weatherproof end-caps. Good construction but the light output is a little dissapointing with the supplied bulb so I have replaced it with a halogen unit but I am currently looking for a suitable LED replacement to give whiter light but less power consumption.
@ e1ectricjesus ; you say the lantern takes 4 x D (or KPR802) batteries; this is an error as the KPR802 refers to the type of bulb (a 4.8 volt 0.5 amp push in type) and not the batteries.
