Have not checked in a while but I always found the Procell range of Duracell to be cheaper on places like eBay. But I would always recommend going the rechargeable route and get some Eneloops, they are a bit more expensive initially but you wont need to keep buying single use batteries.

Have you tried the Lidl ones? They are £2.50 for a pack of 12 I think, roughly that price. Watch a TV program once and they compared the Lidl ones to the Duracell and the Lidl were way better performance wise never mind price wise. Great deal for Duracell but give the Lidl ones a go. Heat from me .
