I use both rechareable and standard in my camera , try rechargeing a battery in a field ! or on a day out.

What a stupid comparison. If you don't have any batteries, you don't have any batteries, rechargeable or not. The question is whether you are organised enough (and have the time) to charge them beforehand. Obviously you want to have at least two sets.

There are few good uses for alkaline batteries, and in most places (such as digital cameras) rechargeable ones work much better.

They were on offer a couple of weeks ago for £6 delivered. Expirey date was 2018 on the ones I got
