The M3 Ultra range is Duracell's most powerful alkaline battery available.

Duracell M3 Ultra batteries also have the very useful "Powercheck" feature built in too.

This size battery is also known as MN1500 and LR6.

they've been selling these for months, but a great deal.

nice deal, voted hot

I'd rather buy rechargeables than add that many batteries to landfill...

Our council has recycled batteries from the doorstep collection for years now.

thanks for the post 'tasman'...just ordered 40 AA & 40 AAA =£26.48 delivered...lovely jubbly.

it appears i've bought the Duracell PLUS High Power Alkaline and not the Duracell ULTRA M3 Extra High Power Alkaline...a little cheaper and still Duracell...i'm happy anyhow :-)

You welcome bro

Anyone got any comparisons with the Energizer Ultimate (non-lithium) AA that Home Bargains are throwing away 4xAA at 99p? Closest I can find is a Which.co.uk test and I think that's on the older Ultras rather than the M3s :

Duracell Plus
Lifetime - Medium drain: excellent
Lifetime - High drain: good
Lifetime - Very high drain: satisfactory
81%

Duracell Ultra
Lifetime - Medium drain: excellent
Lifetime - High drain: good
Lifetime - Very high drain: good
74%

Energizer Ultimate
Lifetime - Medium drain: good
Lifetime - High drain: good
Lifetime - Very high drain: good
70%

Also, per battery from 7ds for the Ultra M3s:
1 x 12 pack @ £4.89 = 40.75p/b
3 x 12 pack @ £4.79 = 39.92p/b (for 36 Batteries that's £14.37)
6 x 12 pack @ £4.69 = 39.083p/b (for 72 Batteries that's £28.14)
1 x 40 pack @ £15.49 = 38.725p/b

There's very little in it, even when you scale it up. Previously it worked out cheaper to multi-buy the 12 packs so at least this makes their pricing more sensible. I think I'll probably stock up on the Energizer Ultimate from Home Bargains at 24.75p/b as I doubt that M3 will last long enough to make the price difference worth it. Still, if you don't want to swap out your batteries often but can't justify the expense of the Energizer Lithium (or can't find a 99p store nearby that might still Lithiums at 50p a battery with a free Energizer phone charger ) these may be a good buy.

I received my pack of 40 Duracell Ultra M3 AA batteries the other day. When I checked the first few, the powerchecker on the side of the battery showed less than 50%. Some showed around 80% but none showed 100%.

7DS responded quickly when I complained and promised to send out a replacement box, so I'll check these when they arrive.

Mine arrived today - and although the box says "M3 Ultra", the batteries just say "Ultra" - no mention of M3...
I'm no expert in batteries. Have I been done?

been thinking about getting a box of these, but just read some posts here, battery only 40-80% full? Ultra instead of M3? looks a bit dogy...

Also whats the expiry date on these batteries?
