This is probably a good deal but I shall never know as there is no way that it would pick up a digital signal where I live. I need a huge aerial pointed at a transmitter miles away to pick up the weakest of signals and, in case you were wondering, I don't live in a remote area.

don't they have lots of these kinda things on ebay for similar or less price? does this have something more?

I think you still have to use your main aerial to get a good signal. The one provided is probably useless

very misleading saying watch TV ANYWHERE!, reception on these things is usually rubbish because of the aerial supplied but for a tenner it might be worth a shot for someone.

my nipple ring would get a better signal than that aerial they give you

my nipple is available for hire

How much are you charging for the hire of your nipple good sir?

Buyer beware, his nipple is on offer here for hire, but the ring (that he claims would get a better signal than this item) is not.

I say! I was nearly conned! Many thanks for being so vigilant.

Just to add my voice. I've got one, almost identical to the device in the picture. Be in no doubt that unless you are VERY close to a transmitter and the little aerial they supply is outside of right by a window you stand practically no chance of receiving anything with it.
At the very least you'll need small portable aerial which could easily cost you more than this receiver.
As for the customer comments, does anybody seriously think they aren't completely fictitious?

Good price useless products, if you are in a built up area forget it and if you are in a remote area forget it. So if you live in a city or if you dont you wont get a good signal. But if you stay right next to a transmitter get it.

if you buy it and use the stupid **** probe they give you then fair enough but using normal arial it records fantastic quality

I know they're not exact comparisons, but I've got one of these and simply don't use it anymore since finding tvcatchup. Far more likely to get a decent wi-fi signal than a decent digital tv signal.

I believe it is a rhetorical statement and as such wouldn't need one. But the '!' is overused on the whole.

Wow.. I wonder anyone can recommend similar products with Freeview HD? Thanks!

You can get similar DVB-T tuners from eBay and Dealextreme for less than a fiver.

Really? Where???

When analogue gets switched off in your area, the digital signal will be increased 10 fold.
For your sake, I hope it hasn't been switched off already!

dealextreme is a US shop

That ships (albeit slowly) to the UK. Have you never bought something from there?

I actually think it is based in Hong Kong

Can I connect a normal ariel to this device and get good reception? I dont have a large antenna or ariel at the top of the house. When the digital switchover happens will this device be unusable?

In my experience these are only portable in so much as you can move it around - you shouldn't take it anywhere where you can't set it up properly as the aerial is rubbish (though if you get it in the exact right position it will work - can be pretty annoying though as exact means exact!).

Not a bad deal (but doesn't really beat eBay).

Could this be plugged up to a usb port on a TV for example giving it digital telly ?

Would you find a TV so old that it doesn't have digital telly anyway but so new that it has a USB port?

I wasn't aware that you could buy TV's that have USB ports but are not digital. Maybe I misunderstood, do you mean use it like a set-top box to get freeview channels?

There's a reason why its reduced from £40 to £10.
