Was thinking of getting it but been doing some research and theres no multi region hack so would be pointless as most my dvds are R1 :-(

I'd get it just for the recording capabilities. Never seen a recorder this cheap before! Thinking of buying one myself since my poxy Philips gave up recording to DVD+R's after just a handful of recordings :viking: I wonder if it does RGB?

That hack is for the DVR3003 but thank you for trying...

None in my local Superdrug but picked up a 5.1 speaker surround set for £7.25. Ok they are not BOSÉ but ok to use as PC speakers.

Editor

Thanks for the tip kestel and for all the extra info Chaos  There are some very good reductions at superdrug at the mo!

Welcome to HotUKDeals new members here and Thanks all for the feedback

Nice price for a DVD recorder in any case ;-)

Guffaw! So you ended up with better quality speakers, then?

Philips products have been getting worse and worse over the years

I knew someone that worked in an electricas shop and he said 60% of the philips stuff they sold was coming back because it was faulty.

No highs, no lows, must be Bose!

Or more usefully: B(uy) O(ther) S(ound) E(quipment)

Got one from Southampton store yesterday to record from sky+ box and works a treat - fantastic bargain

I have rung every store near me and they are all sold out :x

I already have a Bush video/DVD-recorder combi and the quality of the recordings is fine. I shall continue my search as this is a great price.

Got one  (and they still have 2 left......I thought about buying them all, but then saw sense :-D ) I love this forum!

was reading at moenysavingexpert forums where this was originally posted....
has anyone gone to homebase to pickup one of the goodmans dvd recorders for £35?

Where is it on the superdrug website?

No dvd recorder in my local store... doh...

just got one from my local store, comes with a disc but, i want to record kids movies and keep them separate for the kids, what discs would i buy, single recordable ones and re-writeable ones, thanks xx

was in one in glasgow still at full price

Just bought one from Skipton... said £79.99 on it... but when scanned in it was £39.99 Manager had no idea whatsoever that they had been reduced. I bagged the only one they had of that model (3400).

However there was another model there and she said they had also been reduced to £39.99. But can not remember what it was, model number ended in -X1 I think.

mine said £80.00 on point of sale ticket, got them to scan it first to check price and scanned at £39.99, they didn't even know about it the staff then claimed the last 4 they had left in the stock.

]Gazza_UK oops i must be a little slower at typing than you, sorry xx

dromoreboy, I'm afraid you can only get the Bush DVDR at Superdrug high street stores.

fizziebabes,
It's says on the box that it records on DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD-R discs. I have only DVD+RW discs at home though.

I too bought one of these to replace my Philips unit that stopped recording reliably after around 18 months of use!

Sorry I don't know what the difference in the speeds are, the discs i see in shops have a x8 on them but the one that came with the unit has a x4 on the disc I dont know what the difference is, I have never recorded anything from computers or dvd's before so it is all a bit wierd for me and i usually end up getting the wrong this, thanks for your help x

DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD-R - what do all these mean... does the + and - signs mean different things as well?

The three in the Bothwell St store were all discounted. Now they've all been bought, all by my team at work copying me. :whistling:

Thaks to the OP for this, by the way.

Had loads in the Bullring in Birmingham this morning (the older and the new version DVR 3004), went and collected mine tonight and there were about 3 left! Great find, so chuffed! Thank you kestel

i was too late.....they had a box on display but it waas empty, said they were all gone.

I went to 3 stores

They had one in Huyton, Liverpool - a DVDR3003 X1 reduced to £39.99. No 3004 models in stock.

Got one this evening from the Old Trafford store, they had 5 left (4 now!). Still says £79.99 on the shelf but comes up as £39.99 on the till. It's the DVR3003XI model, connected it to my PVR box and recorded from it to a DVD, no problems.

Does anyone know if you can connect a camcorder to this unit please?

Don't know if it helps anyone but there are 4 of these left in the Doncaster, Frenchgate Store of Superdrug this morning. I bought one but had to ask staff for one as they are not on display.

There are 3 left at Superdrug in Solihull behind the counter but they are priced at £79.99 (says original price was £99.99) so they should be going through the till at £39.99 - Hope this helps someone who is after one

None left in
Redcar
Darlington
Stockton and Teesside Park
Billingham
Guisborough
Middlesbrough.

I got a 3004 model from Redcar, last 1.

Does anyone know if this model is any better than 2003XI model?

Thanks for any details

Col
