I didn't mention i bought it and copied it for myself so if the original copy got damaged i had a spare that's why i did it.

please don't start on the whole "if you want it buy it" argument here, i use this software because the copy protection on blurays stops me using them quite legitimately with my choice of playback. i do not rip or copy blurays simply watch ones i have bought on "my" chosen machine.
How do you justify it by 'only wanted a copy for me' - why didn't you buy it if you wanted it that badly?
when you say "gobbledygook" do you mean a random list of numbers and characters? if so thats the key just cut and paste. ^This can be avoided by either using the script they provide via the link or if passkey is already installed save the key file to desktop and double click it, it should enter the key automatically
