The series title is "Sherlock", not "Sherlock Holmes"
on DVD Gold :) forgot to mention, if you buy through Quidco it's 5% cashback.
Spied it where?
Is that just wishful thinking on your part ;) I'm going to take your word on that.. Copper's nose ring always bugs me. It looks slightly strange on an oldish man and it's only apparent in one scene then disappears throughout the rest of the film. Either way, an astonishing film with a great ending. Animatronics showing CGI how its done.
Copper? Yep, that's one of the great things about HD. If you squint you can also now see Robert Patrick's **** in Terminator 2.
I only noticed on the blu ray transfer - the doc wears a nose ring..?!
Beautiful film and the prequel, while nowhere near as good as this, is still a nice little addition.
There was an accident. About an hour ago, a small jet went down inside New York City. The President was on board. Plissken: The president of what?
sorry to hear about the trouble you had. ive ordered from them once(universal classic monsters blu-ray boxset) and everything was ok.
Yes, received a letter in the post cancelling my order! The letter is from a different business brand and has account and order numbers I don't recognise, but it will be DVD Gold. Took the money for stock they didn't have, did nothing for over two weeks, then cancelled on me. Won't use them again, they seem fairly incompetent.
I bought this, emailed them a few days after not receiving, only to be told it had been "withdrawn by the supplier" ! then refunded, dissapointment! Anyone else have this problem?
Yes, but back in the 90s, we didn't have words like that. :)
You mean a Milf?
And one less railway version - thank you
There are now only 8 left at £2.98 and 8 left at £2.99 :)
thanks just ordered , delivery on or b4 24th dcemeber :-)
The x factor is satirical? I thought it was pathetic, desperate people singing and dancing? Like a karaoke Jeremy kyle show? How wrong was I, think I'll watch an episode as I enjoy satire.
Great show for the most part - not sure what the connection with the bloody X factor is though - they couldn't be more different...
Was tempted at £26 but not at £35. I suspect a lot of the jokes have not stood the test of time as they were spefici to the news at the time. Required viewing at the time though!
£34.99 still a decent price.
I am of that age I remember. It'd be illegal now! As is decent music. Talking of which. There was a skit where they sang "Is it me or is music today utter sh@te" but I can't find that on youtube. However th price is showing £35 or am I doing summat won. Also - is this the definite COMPLETE collection? Thanks!
Possibly the greatest ending to a film ever.
As good as the stage show? "Dr Zaius, Dr Zaius..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ocmdiAaOJE&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Hot. Scared the pants off me when I first saw this back in 1968 at the ABC cinema in Sheffield.
To hell with the scarecrows
No, because this was released in 2004, I'm guessing that the 45th or 50th anniversary one will be on blu-ray.
Thought my comment didn't work hence the 2
Black British cross between jack Bauer , dexter , vic Mackey and columbo lol. One of the best maverick cops ever
He's like a black British cross between jack Bauer, dexter, vic Mackey and columbo .. Totally see it if u watch them shows
There was an article on the BBC a while back by the writer. It was titled "Introducing Luther - with love to Detective Columbo". Cigars no, but old cars and overcoats definitely! That and the murderer is introduced act 1.
Why would they release The Big Bang Theory on Blu-Ray and not this? Must be to do with sales.
Haha, didn't happen.
Glad I got my copy a while ago in sainsburys for just £1 in there sale section
I was worried about that but I thought 3 wasn't flooding, but I'll bear it in mind next time, cheers for getting back to me.
I don't know, but I am still waiting on my copy. I'm guessing that they ran out of stock, it's not available any more. I'm guessing that I'll be getting a refund too. Gutted.
Well, I just got a refund from them. Why?
But you then realise they have numbers on the spine and are all part of a collection. Your OCD takes over and so you have to have all the DVDs in the set so the numbers are in order. Then you run out of space to have them all in a line on your shelf and have to buy a bigger shelf. Considering that hardly a deal is it? It's bloody expensive! :D
I ordered Nausicaa + Spirited Away + Princess Mononoke for £19.97 delivered and got £1.40 cashback from Quidco A nice collection for £18.57 methinks :)
This is a really good film. My favourite miyazaki film. Definitely worth a watch if you want to see something different.
Good price but no longer available. Needs expiring. Cannot be added to basket.
great price but already own just waiting on the blu-rays to be a bit cheaper now :|
There are lots of Ghibli fans around who'd vote hot on any deal posted; however DVD prices do tend to go back up once the initial glut is finished. £5 is a decent price for this; for instance it's not dropped below £6.29 at Amazon in more than three years and £7 is the next best price currently. Incidentally I quite liked the movie, and it's one of my wife's favourites - it'd be a dull world if we all liked the same things...
The ignore user button comes in very useful for such informative and helpful posts ;)
Out of Stock already....
I recall that Max Bygraves sang the original theme tune to the programme - "Out of Town." When I was at school in the early 60s we changed the words as follows- Say what you will School dinners make you ill Teachers even die of shepherd's pie. Our school din-dins Come from pig-bins At our school....
For over 20 years Out of Town was a television programme that provided a window on country life in rural Britain. That's just a mickey take. Quote from actual series;- "Fishermen and farriers, horsemen and horticulturalists were prominently featured as presenter Jack Hargreaves took the Southern Television cameras around the country to explore pursuits and activities in the 1960s, 70s and early 80s many of which have long since disappeared. When Out Of Town was first broadcast by ITV, these programmes soon won a large following for the entertaining and informative way that they gave a gentle insight into country life, but as time has passed since the last transmission in 1981 they have become a nostalgic historical record of life in Britain from a bygone age"
Just watched the link above...now I know why! Go buy Porridge DVD instead
Never, ever heard of this, WHY?!!
You mean the DFS sale ended at some point? The Mayans must have been right. PS Awful price, this is surely a joke right? Paid £30 if not less for this.
Damn, paid £199 for this yesterday to watch whilst sitting on my new full price DFS sofa.
This is about the most expensive this set has been in the last 2 years http://www.find-dvd.co.uk/dvd/Carry-On-The-Ultimate-Collection/1086808.htm#more_0 Follow link and then Price History Examples below of recent good price but this set is regularly posted at sub £ 40 prices so probably worth waiting https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/carry-ultimate-collection-dvd-box-set-29-99-play-com-1356096 https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/carry-ultimate-collection-dvd-amazon-1401697
