Is this any good? I know there is lots of similar free software out there but if this is simple to use then I may give it a go, not much to lose really for 2.99

Theres so much free stuff out there why pay for it?

The program seems to just convert videos. In which case, Handbrake is a good free alternative.
handbrake.fr/

Whilst Handbrake is good for converting to MP4s and MKVs. DVDRemaster will rip DVDs and remaster them for burning e.g. extract and burn the movie only without all the menus e.t.c. or, rip a dual layer and remaster it to single layer. It has a different purpose to Handbrake so you can't really compare the two. Hot from me BTW.

So what would be the best program/method to convert a DVD series to Ipad?

Just purchased this app and it doesn't work on encrypted dvd's which would be all of them bar home movies.

Handbrake is brilliant and custom pre-configured settings for iPad or iPod can be found easily on the internet. Just load the settings, select the file and launch conversion. So simple and for free.

You need to download FairMount from

It's free and decrypts on-the-fly. My guess is that Apple do not allow this in the AppStore.

DVDRemaster can as the name implies, remaster the DVD. This can consist of Dual Layer --> Single Layer. It can then burn straight to DVD.
If you've ever used DVD Shrink or DVDFab on the PC you'll know what this is.
DVDRemaster can also export to MP4, 3GP, QuickTime and iPod/iPhone/iPad/AppleTV formats.

Handbrake, however, is for converting or exporting a DVD to MP4 or MKV format.

My complaint is that they didn't make it clear that I wouldn't need another app to get this paid one to work.
