Thanks for posting, scousemickey.

I cannot see an answer to this on the link but doesn't the recipient have to have a DX address? I use DX every day and that is certainly the case for the mail I send out.

Also, price amended to include the VAT.

EDIT - appears not! They must be branching out. Great price!

£20 loss/damage is a bit low.Should really be £50.

Have to agree £7.07 to send something that is only covered to the value of £20 isn't great value unless you're sending a heavy item that is of no significant worth.

If you go through this link you should automatically get £50 loss/damage ( I always get it anyway)
also remember the bag is not guaranteed to fit the parcel, ive just sent a parcel this morning 2kg and the size was within the bag size and it cost me 8.20 ....1,50 was insurace for up to £150 though
Just a word of warning about Parcel Monkey. If something is damaged you have to claim through them and not the actual courier company which is fair enough but they only give you 24 hours (as stated in small print) to report a problem otherwise tough! I found out the hard way when sending a properly packaged amp that got thrown about so badly it became internally damaged. Obviously the problem wasn't visible on initial inspection and only discovered 2 days later when setting it up. Despite taking out full cover they are refusing to pay a penny purely on the grounds the damage wasn't found immediately.

That aside I've had no problem with them and used them many times. Never again though!
We've been using using Collect+ to send a 5-10kg on a 3-5 day delivery costs £6.99 inc VAT(up to 2 kg is £3.99 and up to 5kg £4.99) it dosen't have to fit into a bag but you have to drop it off at one of their shops. -

As we have one 2 5yards from us this is not a big problem for us.Collect+ use Yodel as the actual courier and they don't have the best reviews but what national carrier does have good reviews?

We've sent over a 1000 parcels with them now and only had problems with 2 which from our experience is a very good success rate.

As for ParcelMonkey - they are a bunch of cowboys - how are you supposed to claim within 24 hours on every breakage use at your own risk!
unfortunately collect+ limit the box to 50x30x30 which rules out a lot of boxed AV equiptment as the boxes are highly likely to be >30cm wide.
This is a rubbish service - I used it about 2 weeks ago. Its an all-day collection, so you have to wait around all day for them to turn up...better to pay a bit more and get a 2 hour timeslot....

We send boxes far bigger than that and have never had any of them returned

Used these two weeks ago, never again!!!!!
After the booking, they took 3 days to collect. Then sent both my parcels to the wrong addresses. Took another 4 days to collect the parcels, several phone calls myself to a DX Manager to personally sort the mess out. Parcel Monkey did not want to know, and were truly appalling and said there would be teething problems as this is a new service, wtf.

In the end, a supposed 48 hour service ended up a 2 week service. Parcel Monkey DX service is an utter shambles, and will never use them again, and as for Parcel Monkey, there customer support is disgraceful and don't expect a quick response or any help.

Back to p4d, parcel monkey and DX can go do one....

Stay clear ....... Parcel Monkey are the worst courier company we have ever used.
I think the moral of this story is - if your a business and you have enough volume get an account direct with a carrier it'll be cheaper and you'll get a dedicated customer service department - The problem with all these 3rd party sellers (Parcelmonkey.P4D,Parcel2go etc etc) their customer services are all really good until - you really need them. Then they are non existent mainly because it's not in their interest to make it easy for you to make a successful claim - and to keep costs low they only employ a handful of customer service staff. We NEVER take out extra insurance with these companies as it's simply chucking good money away after bad.
