Would never pay this for a fan but can't help but want one lol

Original Poster

I would pay this but I want the floor version as I have a dog with a long tail (Retriever) and these fans are perfect for dog owners or young children! Plus Dyson support is brill if anything goes wrong.

if you vote cold, you obviously have note experienced how unpleasant … if you vote cold, you obviously have note experienced how unpleasant buffeting can be

Must agree, we all prefer a proper sit down meal rather than a buffet

I'm looking forward to Dyson reinventing the wheel.

this is hot.heated

I saw these at the Gadget Show live recently and yes they are kind of cool but £150 for a fan?? spend a little bit more and get an entry range air conditioning unit that actually cools the air! I always beleive that you get what you pay for and spending a little bit more usually makes sense but cant see how this is £140 more effective at blowing air around than a £9 poundstretcher fan?

i am not a big fan of this deal...

hmm.. better stick to the day job

Love how this is cold, yet not one post on where to find this cheaper. Seriously, what the hell? Yet again, people voting on the product rather than the deal.

This is hot, on account of it being cheaper than anywhere else, as the OP stated; do you follow, people?

Great deal, this will keep me cool whilst i'm wearing my £1.83 jumpers from The Hut.

Hot Price... Stone Cold Product. Massively Overpriced fan, jut like the ipod is a massively overpriced MP3 player (if thats all you use it for...)

Plus... For that price you could buy an air conditioning unit, which is closer to being worth £149.99 + P&p

You are obviously not an experienced HUKD'er. People are entitled to their opinions you know, and there are a lot more criteria for a good deal than simply a cheap(er) price!

Yes we do follow, because it can be a poor deal even if it is cheaper than the same specific item elsewhere if it is grossly overpriced to start with. There is more to sensible buying than just comparing the price on a single branded item. Do you follow?

I'm not voting either way.
I have seen this at Costco and looks cool. However, I have to say that one must be a mug to pay £157 for a fan!!!

As russmw said above, this is no better than my £9 fan I bought from B&Q 10 years ago and still going. If it ever goes wrong I'll just bin it and buy another one, no need for the manufacturer's brilliant support!!!

If I remember right these are far quieter and energy efficient than a b&q jobbie...seriously tempted but would need to see one again first

I actually have one of these (although mine was a gift) and it does look good. It's an appliance and aesthetics are important for a lot of people.

This seems to be the cheapest price so it's hot.

Yep, that was his point

Other devices can perform the same function, some more efficiently, although they probably won't be as pretty, and are a damn sight cheaper.

I'd go further than that, because after reading many threads on here, aesthetics appears to be the ONLY issue for many people.

These fans are expensive and quite noisy BUT they are much safer than the traditional fan, especially for children, and the reduced buffeting does make for a more pleasant cooling experience!!!!! Plus they do look very stylish!

I saw these at an environment expo and they were supposed to use 20x less energy (or something like that) hence I thought I'd check em out. Although tbh the main benefit would be if they were much quieter

my brother had one from argoose and it was utter crap, he sent it back, a joke of a design and price

Since when has HUKD been about people giving deals a cold vote based on the product, rather than the deal? The aim of the site is quite clear in the URL. This is not 'hotukproducts.com'.

The post below yours makes more sense (spock1958) and he makes a valid point, which I agree with. Personally though, I stay away from voting cold on products that I think are overpriced (but that the OP has posted at a good price) because it's not really part of the site's mantra. Opinions differ, but prices are prices and can be voted on objectively.
