In what way did it not last a month? Did it just stop working, did something physically break off it, did it wear out all of its parts??

Cheers, this will get very hot. Mine's ordered. :o)

When the DC24 is working...it does the job well...it's light....agile...and easy to use....but...brush head motors can be a problem(I've had two in a year)....saying that..my Dyson was over a year old when I bought it....so perhaps these newer models are more robust?

Ordered Thanks. Great Price

ordered thanks OP

On the Argos outlet site it comes with a one year warranty, yet on the Dyson website it states that refurb products have a two year guarantee. Has anyone purchased a Dyson refurb before?

Just bought one seems a great price

I have one and it's great . I would buy another if it broke.

these arw crap I have one and wish I didnt

This is a great machine.

We've had ours for about 4 years now, and had to have the brush motor replaced once which isn't too bad given the amount of usage the thing gets. Their customer service is great, they gave no problems getting someone out to fix it.

The mistake people make with these is not cleaning the filters and then they complain why the suction drops. There's two of them and all they need is rinsing under a tap. It is recommended to do it once a month.

This has a one year guarantee, the new ones have a 5 year guarantee - so whoever says they've bought it and had brush motors replaced at no cost - note that on this item anything going wrong and requiring a repair after the first year will be out of your own pocket

Mine blew up apparently known fault on this model

Not sure if this model suffers the same issue but it gets very annoying after a while.

Add refurb to title

Have one of these. Good lightweight vacuum.

Have had one for over 5yrs replaced the cleaning head once. The odd thing is the motor is rated at 240 or 250 V while the pcb fed it iro 330V. Was that the reason for the failure? Dunno as I've seen a report of someone testing a new PCB to get the same voltage. Also other people have tested their pcbs and also found 330V output.

btw really good little machine. Still able to lift the mats in the kitchen with its suction.

If you have any Nectar points knocking about you can use them on Ebay , might be able to get it a bit cheaper even

Had this for 6 years now and it's been excellent. Just swapped the filters twice in that time at a cost of £30 the pair

Mine is the first review on amazon

Not convinced £134.99 is hot for second hand but there you go.For new it would be ultra-scorchio. Refurb should be stated in the title

I'm afraid I'm going to Cold this one. It's a brilliant vacuum, but I would never touch a Dyson without the full warranty. Too often they're only reliable after the first few bits are replaced under warranty.

Had the same question and I find this. answers.yahoo.com/que…1pS

A Dyson customer service guy even answered!

This goes for all bagless vacuum cleaners

Hot from me, ordered cheers. Been waiting on a Dyson upright deal

Dyson = cheap plastic crap masquerading as high-tech marvels. I will never forget the misery of owning a DC04 and the expense it caused me over the years. My previous vacuum cost a fiver and lasted ten years without a hickup. The DC04 cost over £200 and lasted about seven years until I finally smashed it to pieces with a sledgehammer. Never have I been so glad to be shot of any consumer product in my entire life.

I've also heard countless stories of people that have bought Dysons only for them to start needing repairs within eighteen months. My brother has a DC14 and the repair man has been out five times already. It's just ridiculous.

Far too many one and two star reviews

We have a Dyson DC50, it's fantastic in terms of size and my wife loves it.. The 5 year warranty also helps.

Unfortunately Dyson gets allot of stick because they have 20%+ share of the UK market, that's over double there closest competitor. Means that you'll undoubtedly see more people complaining about them in general, then again sometimes Dyson quality can be a bit 'iffy'... Personally i think Dysons are great, just remember to wash out filters every 2 months.. Also the warranty they come with covers you for any issues. Although the limited 1 year warranty with this would put me off.

Miele are fantastic for reliability and performance - providing you're happy to go back to a bag hoover.

DC33 or this one?

Anyone seen any deals for the DC59

Don't buy it's rubbish! I had 4 brush bar motors put in mine (all genuine dyson costing £30 a time) in the end I chucked it away utter crap!
