Love the which review quote 'if you wanna look cool spend £200, if you want to actually be cool stick with a £10 fan' (it moves more air).

Expensive yes but worth it. Especially if you have stupid kids or pets!

Spending this amount on a fan probably means that the kids and pets aren't alone in being stupid ...

Why is it worth it? It moves less air than a standard fan and normal fans have a guard on the front.

Having spent nearly £400 on the fan heater version, I wouldn't recommend them. They're noisy and a £20 16" desk fan moves the same amount of air on a low setting as the Dyson does on high with less noise. My advice, spend £80 on a decent tower fan.

I don't own one, just pointing out some peoples reasoning. Depends on the style of guard, some have quite wide gaps.

Still this will get voted into the ground regardless. People often forget it is a deal site and you should vote on the % saved over the standard price in the shops. Not what you think an item is worth.

Maybe you are right, but at the end of the day it is their money to do with as they wish. I've seen people spend stupid money on all sorts of nonsense. Just look at those "premium" HDMI cables for digital signals.

At least this does a decent job of moving air, looking good and not being a risk to pets/kids.

Post a deal for a HDMI cable with the highest RRP and biggest saving you can find, see how cold it goes. Just because something has a ridiculous RRP (in most people's view) doesn't make it a good deal when it's reduced. Personally if this was £50 I wouldn't think it was good value.

Point taken but value is extremely subjective, it means different things to different people.

It's refurbished so has already failed. Que the people who will say it has been returned under distance selling regulations even though it was working perfectly.

I think they most probably were working perfect and people just thought 'how much did this cost' and sent it back. They've been constantly selling refurbished ones since it came out.
The only thing I'll say for the Dyson is, that at least it looks a bit better than the vax version:-

Ok, so that's a picture of an ashtray, but it is close enough

If I was rich, I would probably buy one, but I'm not. DYSON seem good at charging the earth for their products, and pricing themselves out of the market.....perfect example, their hair dryer
These are good where you work at a desk with a lot of a paperwork as very concentrated air stream. Normal fan means paperwork blown everywhere.
Thanks for this - saved myself £50 on the currys price and 1% quidco as well! - its still a lot of money but a friend has one and swears by it.
Great piece of kit, thanks for posting. It’s my money and I spend it how I wish

Swears by it!! Is that due to the amount of money he wasted on it!
Well I got one and love it

With a 2 year old and a 3 year old, a normal fan is no good to put in their room at night. This has no exposed moving parts, so we opted to get one for their room. Yes, they are bloomin' expensive, but we'd rather pay more and not have a trip to A&E.
We went for a 'refurbished' model off their eBay outlet. I must say that if it is refurbished I'll eat my hat. The box was pristine, everything was packed as if it just left the factory. More telling is that the warranty comes up as 2 years on the Dyson website when registered. Deal for me.
