We’ve got the round one. My parents got it for us after we had our first child as they thought it would be safer.

As someone that generally hates fans I think it’s pretty decent. Produces a nice even airflow and tolerable noise. Not just in terms of Decibels, but it’s a clean “whoosh” rather then the irritating clatter most fans make.

Still wouldn’t pay this much for it myself, but I’d describe it as pretty good if like me the aforementioned annoy you about fans.
.....that utilizes the Air Multiplier technology.
You mean it forces the air through a narrow gap? Makes it worth all of that money.
MeacoFan 1056 Air Circulator is better any day
Interesting. I'll have a look. £280 is way too much even though it's a good deal for this item
A CPU fan in a sock might make the same sorta power flow...
No wonder Sir James is the UKs richest person if he can sell this product for this sort of money. Madness.

I agree, a fan for nearly £300 quid is crazy I don't care how good is. Maybe viable for office or hotel venues but ridiculous for a average home user

That's the worst thing about it, the performance.
I made the mistake of buying two for the office, went back to £50 pedestal fans after a few months
Dyson can even make Apple products look like good value! One for the brand nutters only I think.

But it isn't just a fan. It's primarily an air purifier. Doubly useful with babies in the house?

Does it get rid of other smells too?

I bought one of these earlier this year when there was a bit of a heatwave going on. It is a bit more expensive than it should be however it is certainly a very good fan as you'd expect for the price and when I ran it overnight after I'd been struggling with hay-fever during the day I generally slept very well and woke up feeling normal rather than bunged up and itchy eyed.

I'm very happy with mine and I spent more than this.

Obviously not for everyone due to the prohibitive cost but for those that don't bawk at the cost, you won't be didsapointed.

Possibly! But I had protection of the baby in mind (air pollutants and heat) rather than of the parents!

Not a fan of his fans more like. Come to think about it, after owning several of his vacuums over the years I'm no longer a fan of them either. But I'm sure he doesn't give a stuff what i think given there are plenty of people who are fans (and pay through the nose for the privilege).

"Although the Dyson models don't perform badly in our tests overall, when it comes to the strength of airflow and their ability to create a nice cooling breeze, you can buy a product that does the job for less than a tenth of the price."

They are air purifiers, not fans.
I learnt that on this thread
