Dunno! Waiting to see the models V8 etc drop in order to buy. From what I've read removal of rubbish picked up is easier on V8 and above.
This is a very good price for the V7.

The V7 is the same as the V8 for emptying. It’s only the V6 that has the old mechanism

The motorheads are a gimmick. Probably to make up for the lack of power in it's lower setting modes (required so that they can make the 40 minute battery life claim). They don't vacuum anything up. Hair just gets caught and tangled around the rotating brush bar. Hair is quite messy to pick up anyway. But with a standard brush head, at least you can just pull it out in a second. On these bloody motorhead things it's all wound up and you have to cut it out with scissors. An extra unnecessary task in the process of doing something that's not great fun to begin with.

In some instances I think you're right, but I think they can make a real difference in others. The bristles can dislodge stuff like dried mud in car boots can help uproot dog/cat hairs. If you've got shed loads of hair then yes, it's easier to pick up, but if it's stuck in carpet fibers then the spinning head really helps.

Completely disagree with this, the motorhead on our V6 Total clean gets into the carpet and adds to suction. Yeah hair gets caught round the bristles, but that’s easily pulled off. The hard floor motorhead attachment (not on this V7) also works wonders on our tiled and wood floors.

Heat for this deal op 🔥

They are good for cleaning up "hard" spills (a pile of rice or sequins or whatever).

The hair isn't easy to pull off. It's wound around the brush bar (not just the bristles). You have to meticulously pull it out slowly, so it doesn't snap (not easy to do with hair), or you cut it out with scissors.

It doesn't add to the suction. That's impossible. What it does do, is create a vortex action that can draw in loose dirt (loose). Which might give it the appearance of adding to the vacuum suction (and perhaps practically you could argue it does), but it isn't really adding to the suction. Any benefit of this is offset by the fact that you have a massive head on the end of vacuum funnel tube (which will physically reduce suction).

On carpet, I think it's useless. It doesn't beat the carpet. If I hold it in place whilst pressing it down (natural hoovering action), the bar struggles to move, or just stops. It wont even pick up slightly pushed in lint on short shag carpet. When I change the attachment to a standard brush head, I can vacuum away with no such problems.

One other advantage it has, is that it is easy to drive. But that's because there's hardly any suction and it just glides along the surface. So it's useless.

All of that is my own personal experience though. No doubt yours will differ.

But that's my point really. Hair is not being vacuumed up. It just wrapping around the motorhead brush bar. So you're going to have to either leave it and let it build up and eventually pull it out (cut it out), or do it immediately afterwards. And that task is not easy. It's a pain, unlike a normal vacuum brush head where it can literally be pulled out in a second. Either way it's something I'd rather not have to do at all, and using a normal vacuum head, I don't. And using a normal vacuum head it's picking up just as much dirt and hair. In fact more, because a lot of hair is actually being vacuumed, not just getting caught in the brush.

And hair being stuck in carpet fibres is exactly where I think this fails.

But most manufacturer's are using these motorheads now. So maybe they are the new normal.

How would this compare to our current big ball multi floor 2, apart from being cordless would the be suction be any better or equally?
This deal sucks

I agree. The powered head is essential for carpets.
A Dyson Motörhead, Lemmy would hate it in pink though.
