I dont understand......I posted a Dyson DC27 which has much more suction power than this and overall to me seems better. It was £199 at argos when i posted it and people voted it cold. This is the ball version which supposedly strains the wrist and has significantly less suction power......100 air watts less than the DC27. Surely people aren't just voting this hot because of a ball??

Here's the link for the post I made.....its still £199 and in my opinion the better choice!!

The bin in this thing is tiny, you will be forever emptying the darn thing.
overpriced and much better alternatives for half the price. iPhone of hoovers
Be careful of misinterpreting this product. I spent 4 days in hospital recently and I'm only starting to walk straight now...

Lol, I doubt that to be honest, I have had our Dyson for over 5 years, I broke it once by hoovering up some rope, they came out next day and put a new motor in it, and replaced all the body surround which I had smashed myself previously. Plus the suction is always strong.

It's not funny honest now.

My dyson is the best Hoover too, 4 years not a problem, is like new everytime I clean it out, have had cheap models before and they could never compare
I just bought a Panasonic upright and it is much more powerful than the Dyson with switches for hard floors or carpets. I keep an upright Dyson upstairs for the bedrooms, but I replaced the new cylinder type Dyson with the Panasonic as I hated hauling it round the house and it screeched if even a bit paper got stuck in the foot. Got the Panasonic in Argos for £79 half price. Brilliant.
i had a miele before, and when i brought my DC24 through a linked-promotion i didnt have high expectation (I needed a small hoover) since everywhere on the web people is telling me Dyson is pretty rubbish.

I was pleasantly surprised by the size and the suction for its size (had it for almost 2 years). it is pretty impressive to be honest.
I have had a british brand vacuum for 20 years that is half the price of a dyson, using it for my trade. Can you say the same for a Dyson? I doubt it,that's why there are so many in the junk yard. it's a brand that spends a big budget on advertising and people fall for it.

It's a different market they're aiming at, I have a DC33 and it's great for a three storey house, large container, long cable and huge hose, perfect for the stairs. A DC24 is intended for a small flat overcrowded with furniture to negotiate around.
I think some people will be disappointed with the size of this 'baby' Dyson once it's delivered as the DC25 is the better choice.

People will pay extra for the gimmick and £199 seems to be the norm for the DC27, I only paid £179 for the DC33 Stuborn

So much wrong with that sentence.

Much better deal here for people with bigger property than a bedsit.

Why you would buy this for 200 when you can get a sebo x4 for about the same money. ..
Massively superior to any Dyson. ..

Just shame the build quality of Dyson has depreciated so much over the years. The new ones feel so cheap compared to the origional models.

Hate when quality brands start to live off their name instead of maintaining high standards of products! The same happened with DeWalt, they're cheap crap nowadays too, except they still cost more, but nowadays, they're not worth it!

winty1 i need a small very light upright for the stairs what would you recommend?
I'm still using a DC04 in our lounge, copes well with the dog, kids and wife
Rubbish on the wooden floors and sort of ok'ish in tiled kitchen.

But, we've had this since 2001 when I bought it on a special from our local Morrisons so I can't fault it for build quality.

My mate Tom (white goods and consumer repairs) really disses the newer Dysons, he sees a much higher failure rate than the older ones.
An update on this offer, leekes (in coventry) is offering cashback offer on store vouchers on any purchases instore... you will get 20 pounds gift voucher with purchase of this vacuum
