Same price at John Lewis and a better deal as they include a 5 year warranty for free whereas Tesco want £55 for 3 years warranty! Good find though, that's the Mrs's Christmas present sorted

Pretty sure they come with a Dyson 5 year warranty as standard. So doesn't matter where you buy?

You are correct Sir. Got one for slightly more 6 months ago. Good Vac...register online for 5 year warranty.

Same price at John Lewis..

but that's for the standard DC25, not the DC25 animal which usually retails for at least £100 more.

Argos and Homebase are currently selling it for £329.99.

Hot deal. Is this the full size one or one of those mini ones does anyone know?

This is more of a typical size I think. The DC26 is one of the small ones.

I got one of these on impulse, last time it was on offer. But I’ve decided to sell mine... well, it was just collecting dust.

As of September 1 this year, the EU are banning all vacuum cleaners over 1600w. As this is only 1200w, I would pass and buy the best and most powerful vacuum you afford as soon as possible.

Yes, and in a couple of years it will be 900w or under.

A straw and a good set of lungs will do a better job then.

They are banning them because irresponsible companies like Vax were making 2200w units that got their **** wooped by better designed, much lower wattage units, like this one.

Wattage does not equal better suction which does not equal better cleaning!

even when comparing 'air watts' which is a measure of suction this falls short of the 2200/2300/2400 hoover brand machines, but not by much. they are around 300 air watts whereas this one is something like 230. so for nearly double the power usage you get just a 30% increase in power.
i own this vacuum and can say it does the job. it will not suck as well as a machine double the power, but it doesnt make you take twice as long, therefore it is still more efficient.
anyone comparing this to the 3/4 size 600w model should get this more powerful one not the mini one. ive used the mini one and its pretty much useless

I got this almost 5 years ago when it was a special only for Comet, £125 with discount and code .. Including the 5 years 5 Xmas ago

also available in sainsbury stores at this price

Not true in most cases, air watts much better on other machines. Someone mentioned this is 230 airwatts, I have 320 Vax, 450 Philips!
That is almost double suction power, which will indeed clean better in 99.9% of the cases.

Pretty sure I saw this in Currys for £199

Not true in most cases. Many reviews simply show this is the case. It's not just about the raw watts.
Just compare a normal flat head on the end of the tube over a motorised one directly linked to the suction element. The difference is huge, and the reason vacuums that are lower wattage win awards in places like Which? over more 'powerful' ones.

Do feel free to share your findings with the reviewers though.

That may be true however my 2000w cleaner has more suction than any dyson I've used and it cost have the price. Also 5 of the 7 Which? best buy cleaners are more than 1600w telegraph.co.uk/new…tml

Do feel free to express your own opinions and mention what research you did yourself.
If you are just talking based on what you read from others you should mention this.

However, as you can see, others had the same experience as me. My current 2200W is Which? 2013 winner.

A rotator brush will not help to clean deeply in the carpet. I would recommend you buy an above 400 airWatts vacuum cleaner and try for yourself on a carpet yoi vacuumed with a rotator brush 230 airWatts unit and you will see that dirt will show immediately.

Many thanks to op got one on clubcard vouchers . Great vac so far . Cheers for the post !!

Thanks to the OP, I know it says this deal is expired but I just got this deal with 5% cashback on quidco, also the £10 off for 1st order so well pleased.

And to add that they aren't banned from shops selling them, companies just can't import any more to the UK. Was having a giggle at people panic buying on the weekend when the shops put their prices up, more watts in the motor doesn't mean more 'air watts', just making companies realise there are better ways to make their units.

Thanks OP! Went to buy this and found out that I had £46 worth of club vouchers to use! So with the extra £10 evoucher code (using a new email address), it came to £163!

Or just buy a normal vacuum cleaner with bags instead of covering yourself in dust and no spinning blades to jam and break?

I'm yet to find a single advantage of pulling massive unit across the floor and steps instead of hose with nozzle that fits everywhere, has no moving parts and costs third of the price of this contraption.

Which Comet was it? I'm just setting the co-ordinates on my time machine

quidco doing 5% cashback of £209 with discount code £10 for new customers etc.

Get them while you can, as the EU has banned hoovers with motors over 1600 watts from today!

Agreed. I've had 5 replacement turbo heads in the last 5 years.

So... not really a recommendation for the machine itself!

Is this ok for wood floors?

Would never use anything other than dyson again. Wattage is irrelevant

My flooring is more rug (long threads) than carpet, most vacuums don't seem to have adequate suction any recommendations?? .. Iv used vac upright and dyson mini but none are effective ... The vax rotating head burnt my carpet

Never been covered in dust, and never had to buy a bag either. You're either extremely ham-fisted or you've never actually used one of these. I suspect the latter. And what are these "spinning blades" you're talking about? Are you confusing this with a lawn mower?

How about the fact that it cleans better because it brushes?
Or the fact that it's just as easy to pull around as a cylinder cleaner?
Or that it doesn't get caught on the furniture as you drag it around on the end of its hose?
Or that it has a hose anyway, for those hard-to-reach places (TM)?

Looks like you haven't tried very hard.
And "no moving parts"? Sorry to shatter your illusion but every vacuum cleaner has moving parts.
