Blimey, that sounds like the sort of battery life you use to get out of v.old mobile phones after charging them for 12 hours. That's not too good is it

Thought the time would be an issue but to be honest it's been excellent.Ideal for the odd job and cleaning my car.Wprth every penny.

Battery time is awful for a 2hr charge just buy a henry

I paid £149.99 only 9 months ago and it's was still worth the money.

Great for car, bike, kids room, high and low places. Highly recommended. I don't often post, but this this is a great price.

Battery life for me isn't a issue. Run your hover for 15 minutes. That's a lot of sucking!

Tempted. Thanks.

Got a portable Dyson a couple of years ago (secondhand) seemed expensive but worth trying, it now caters for 90% of all vacuuming tasks in our house, enough that the full size Dyson is about to get relegated to the shed as it's not worth the space in the house. Granted vacuuming time is around 6 minutes, but if you're careful it's enough.

I got a similar model last year and it is worth every penny. A life saver when it comes to clearing up the mess after my little girl has eaten. My big Dyson hardly gets used now. Great price

Use mine for work. Never ran out of charge. As its powerful 6-10 minutes is a long time. I used it in a dentist waiting room once and 3 women all had a go!!

Why would you take your dyson to the dentists with you? Seems very strange. Like taking your lawnmower down to tesco to do the shopping

I wonder how this compares with the gtech hoover thing I bought!

I still have the first generation of these and the battery lasts for five minute tops.

BUT!

It gives the same quality of suction as a plugged in cleaner which means you can quite easily clean a car in the five minutes the battery gives.

It's an awesome bit of kit that I'd recommend to anyone.

Doesn't seem a bad price, we brough a Gtech Air Ram and the Multi (similar to the Dyson) about 4 months ago.... gtechonline.co.uk/cor…tml

We haven't used our traditional plug in hoover since.

How many per store 2-3 like in the other top maque stuff they have....

Are the batteries still such short life? Flight of stairs and ....why the hell did I buy this? Sure we would use ours much more if it wasn't constantly needing charging.

Here fishy fishy

Agree with everyone that are saying they don't use their main vacuum cleaner anymore. Mine is only used for "spring cleaning". The battery is mire than enough daily.

Nonsense!
This 'battery life' issue comes up every time. Listen, peeps, we have had one of these for a couple of years and it's one of the best bits of kit we've ever had.
We are forever grabbing it from its charger for quickly cleaning hard floors and carpets with no bother whatsoever.
And like Mr Dyson claims, the suction power really is as powerful at the start as at the finish.
As for battery life - most people don't run a vacuum cleaner non-stop, so from experience I can promise you that this will do an amazing amount of cleaning before needing recharge.
Lovely gadget, wouldn't be without it.

Love the air ram. That's an ideal corded replacement for carpets especially.

Totally agree, use mine everyday and only have to charge it maybe once a week. I find I only need to use shorts bursts to clear up after my daughter and cats never need to use the boost for extra suction so the battery lasts a long time with no loss of suction when needing to be emptied

About 10 minutes
I got one a few months ago, but it has been so rubbish it now is relegated to gather dust in the garage.

Lucky you
I have one and the pathetic battery life is the main reason why it now is in the back of the cupboard so from my experience i can promise you that other than for cleaning up a quick spill it is practically useless.

we got this but because I have a problem with my wrist it was too heavy and hard to hold the on handle in at the same time. We just bought the new GTech hand held with a small flexible hose and this is much more ergonomically shaped so is much easier for me to use. Now my hubby used the dyson for his car etc and I use the GTech one.

Which bit is nonsense? We have on as stated and it is what happens. The battery life is NAFF - if he was as good as he thinks then surely he could do a battery that lasts longer than six mins max! Can't do both our stairs before it cuts out and starts then cuts out.
Like I said though "Are the batteries still such short life?" we got ours years ago and admittedly might not be this model. 6 mins max battery.

I considered the Dyson but I have one of these coming tomorrow... amazon.co.uk/Bla…hen

Battery life is better than the Dyson

The predecessor

amazon.co.uk/Bla…hen

got consistently good reviews (apart from it being noisey).

Actually the one I am getting is the PD1820LF (which is the same as the one in the first link but has an extra adapter head and is available on EBay for £99.95 too).

Granted it is more of a 2 handed job than the one handed with the Dyson. I will find out if it is worth it tomorrow.

I have one of these and my tip of the year is to buy the charging mount from Dyson. Ours gets hammered(and its been brill) but that is because it is always charged on its wall mounted charger.

Is this just a handheld or can you buy attachments so it can be used in the same way as the dc35 etc? thanks in advance

Great deal, these Dyson portable models are excellent..and there is really no equal alternative in the market with on par performance.battery life is short on paper but most people forget how long it really takes to clean a small area.(which is what these models are designed for).
I'm personally looking for a deal for the full size DC-35.
