How does this compare to the DC56H that was recently on offer?

Same as regards to power and battery. It jus depends on what tools it comes with.

I think that anonemoney really needs to research things before ill informing others. for starters the manual states 6 minutes use for the dc30, but 15 for the dc56H. Then their is the air wattage, the dc30 has a max of 40AW, with the dc56h having a standard 28AW (to get the 15 minutes), or a max of 65AW (which then ends up being about 7-8 minutes. So "Same as regards to power and battery." isnt quite right.

was tempted until I read the customer feedback on Amazon. Seems the batteries are a weak point and are expensive, some have paid £50 for replacements which seems disproportionate.

THIS IS £69 @ ALDI

I have one. Strong suction but batteries barely last long enough to vac the car out. Over priced Dyson gimmick.

Bought one for 99 at aldi.Yes others will say its not designed as a standalone vac but 3.5 hours for 6 mins is a joke for a company supposedly forward thinking .
Returned for refund.

It has gone up to £199 I wanted to order it today as well!

My similar model has worked fine. The battery died about 3 years after I bought it so went on eBay and paid £30 for replacement. Recently spent £20 on amazon and purchased the long tube which fits it so I don't have to bend down and vacuum. The 6 minutes has been fine as this should only be used as a general quick vacuum and not a all over deep clean like the main vacuum is.

I previous had the cheaper models like black and decker. The suction on this is far better. No regrets about buying the Dyson handheld.

Can you please point us in the direction of a better cordless vacuum cleaner? I guess we are all spoiled buy newer gadgets like tablets, laptops, mobiles etc with greater and greater battery life. People seem to forget this is a device with a large moving part in it, which will ALWAYS consume more power than solid state devices.

While my DC35 could probably be better, there are better models anyway, it is miles better than any other handheld or cordless vacuums I've used previously.

Cold. DC56H was a much better deal.

Can you point me to your time machine so that I can get this deal?

As someone else has said, grabbed one of these at Aldi on Thursday (4th Dec?) for £69! May have been a one-day deal though. It's a quite nice piece of kit!

I was looking to get one of the dyson handhelds...but didnt factor the short usage times - back to corded cylider for me, glad your useful lot are on here!

Great price, ordered. Thanks Chanchi

Don't be stupid.

We've had the GTECH AirRAM for a couple of years and its absolutely amazing. The battery lasts a good 30 minutes and I can honestly say that the suction is far superior to most mains powered uprights - although not quite as good as the Henry! But the fact you can carry it around so easily makes it a very welcome piece of kit, but its big downfall is it doesn't have any attachements for stairs, skiting etc. So something like this would be perfect.

Based on past experience, I was thinking of the GTECH Multi - gtech.co.uk/cor…tml but this Dyson does seem very good value. Anyone have any experience of the two together?

Thanks

I also bought this in Aldi last week ....for £65 (£69-£5voucher through letter box). This was part of their new store opening offers in Aldi Gloucester. Was very pleased with that price!

Was just about to buy then found out they do a DC34 model with more power..

Just purchased. TCB with the £20 discount code and clubcard boost. Excellent deal. Hot

If you're after a good cordless and don't mind spending the money, the Bosh 25v Athlet is just superb. £250 in John Lewis and other places. Upto 60mins running time with 3 power levels - the 3rd power level is far too strong on carpet, with level 2 sucking up much more pet hair and dirt then our corded Dyson DC25. Will get 30+ minutes on power level 2, more then enough to do the whole house. Comes with a hose and tools although attaching is a bit of a faff. We now fight over who's doing the vacuuming!
