Good find... Same price in argos at the moment also!

argos.co.uk/m/s…htm

Picked this up before Christmas same price they did increase the price after a couple of weeks to 150ish?, great handheld.

are they reliable?

Not heard of any major issues as such apart from the battery - You would run out of battery by the time you added one of these into the basket, logged in, checked out, logged into paypal, paid and confirmed.

wow so the batteries last about 3 hours!

I may be slow at logging into accounts but i'll make up for that now in time spent not recharging my hoover!

man, the battery issue puts me right off

reviews on amazon dont seem to be too concerned with the battery life... I'm ordering!

really? 3 hours? No way, your having a laugh. Can someone point any info on the battery side of things

battery run time = 6 minutes. I'm not sure if this can work while plugged into mains power but that 6 minutes is off putting.

I have the dc34 animal handeld which runs for 15 mins, also has a motorised brush car which makes a huge difference.

I recommend a spare battery as well so you always gave one charged.

I use mine for stair carpet and the 15 mins is definitely enough,I'm sure 6 would do too.

Its great for the car,the motorised brush at is great, gives it a bit more oomph

most people are saying six mins, i live in a town house, dont think that would get me through the stairs

Why not 5yr warranty?

I have an older one of these and the battery is fine. You know how much hassle it is to get the upright hoover out of the under stairs cupboard, wheel it to the room that needs a quick clean up, untangle the cord and plug it in, try to avoid a startled cat, trip over the power cord, pick your self up and turn on the hoover? This is quicker that that and lasts long enough to do the quick jobs.

Can you get extension poles to make there more like the DC44 & DC59?

Anyone seen a good price on the DC59? I'm looking for one and have only found online for £303-309; would love to find a high street one for that price (NW London). I'm new here so I don't really know the retailers that well.

These are so rubbish it's astounding it's a Dyson product. Use it for 5 minutes, charge it for 3 HOURS. Oh, and the exhaust vent is pointed right at your face, so I hope you like smelling what you vacuum.

I got one of these, no problems, I don't have deluded thoughts of a high powered handheld vacuum having a battery that lasts for hours. Dyson are also great when it comes to sending out replacement parts within warranty, as I have done many a time with my full size one.

where did you see DC 59 for £303 - £309 ? I think I want one ...

Great for use in the car and the 6 minute run time is adequate.

anyone seen a DC34 for less than £150?

Wasn't there one from co-op with free tools for a smidge under £100 not so long ago? I've seen the deal twice in recent months, so keep your eyes peeled. I'll be grabbing one if/when they're back on offer

What a load of tripe being spoken on here about battery life!

We have had one of these for many months and it is one of the best bits of kit we have ever bought.

It is not meant to be a "whole house" vacuum, but we can do a reasonable whizz round downstairs, all the stairs, bathroom, awkward places in the bedrooms and much, much more before it needs recharging.

We can also thoroughly clean two cars and it is nowhere near recharging.

Unlike some cleaners, these Dysons keep maximum suction power (and it's really powerful!) right until it's due for recharge.

It gets into all the little nooks and crannies your big vacuum cleaner can't access.

Yes they can be pricey - but they are a really great and useful cleaner.

Absolutely! Dyson have a first class reputation for reliability.

An absolutely foolish, incorrect statement!

It shouldn't! Ignore the false statements on here about battery life. We have no problems.

But no-one keeps their cleaner running non-stop for 6 minutes! These little beauties are more than adequate for most of your needs.

See my comments above. This cleaner is more than adequate for stairs plus a great more besides.

What an absolute load of nonsense! From long experience, my wife and I can guarantee that this post is totally untrue.

It might take 3.5 hours to completely recharge from fully flat - but like all rechargeable tools, in practice you don't need to FULLY recharge it before each use.

Also, as I said earlier, people rarely run their cleaner for 6 minutes non stop.

I can honestly say that we have not experienced any problem with either recharging or usage time.

I love mine, have the dc34 animal-great for car and stair carpet.

Just to say though that dyson do recommend only charging when completely flat and for the full time.

My battery stopped working properly and when I phoned I was told the above.

I do now have two batteries and always have one fully charged whilst using other one.

I love my wee dyson and my upright ball one(can't remember model )

has this model been discontinued ? As I don't see it on dyson's website

Ordered 1 on Friday morning. Still not dispatched. Not a very good service.

Dyson outlet take ages to dispatch and deliver. My hoover took just over 2 weeks to be delivered.
