Ive been looking for this product for a while - but everywhere ive found it have been out of stock - Asda direct and John Lewis are selling this for £135, but if there isnt one near you, Comet will price match for £135 - which is good as i have a Coment just down the road!

Probably a decent price, but I hope they've sorted out the battery issue. On my 2nd battery now (warranty replacement) and this one still "dies" after 20 seconds. Comes alive again after waiting, but max 20 seconds usage each time, for a total of around 3 minutes :-(

But don't let that put you off....

beware posting items like these so close to asking price tht_crazy_guy - you will get the cold brigade voting because they dont like it or they wouldnt pay that much for a handheld.

they only price match it if its in stock at asda etc

I am puzzled... why one earth would you want to buy it from Comet instead of John Lewis?

I know JL are not all they are cracked up to be, but I wouldn't pass JL by to go to Comet, one of the worst retailers I have ever had the displeasure to be messed around and ripped off by!

If I wanted it straight away, I would probably just go to the Dyson Web site and pay £139.99 to get it with the "free" extendable hose (Their spelling!)

One other thing to note, is the guy whom i told i had seen it at JL didnt even check the price anywhere, someone should try saying its cheaper and get a better deal! I have used it tonight after charging it and did my stairs a treat - i have 2 Chihuahuas, one black hair, one tan, and got loads of hair up that i didnt even see was there! All in all a great product

The link youve posted is to the DC31, not the DC31 Animal - the animal has an extra power setting and motorised head, and retails on Dyson website for £159.99 - even with the free hose, i think my deal is better.....dyson.co.uk/sto…MAL

Seems you got a good deal mate, well done, bit lucky too

Ah I see, it was the Riddle of the Day! :?

In which case, the whole thing doesn't stack up, the original item you posted was a price match with the DC31 @ John Lewis, which as you said, is out of stock:
johnlewis.com/230…C31

The Animal version isn't today, and wasn't yesterday on their site, which is why I linked the DC 31 @ Dyson's own site, so quite why anyone inc. Comet would price match a product that wasn't available in the first place is a mystery!

The item at Asda IS the Animal version, fine I understanding now, clearly Comet would be willing to match that - but what the John Lewis business you posted was about is still a mystery to me! :?

Still doesn't make sense to me why would anyone would choose to get it at Comet, especially as you would need to mess around & get them to price match when you can just get it at Asda effort free - sit back, order it online & then just pick it up!?
Even more so, when you can get 2.5% Quidco at Asda. By price matching at Comet, it isn't then an online purchase would mean you can't get the Quidco from that sale!
