Yes, it's a colossal pile of cash for a vacuum cleaner, but the usual price seems to be in the £320 to £350 region, while Tesco is selling refurbs on eBay for £275. The DC59 has better suction, longer battery life than the other Dyson handhelds, while the 'Animal' kit ensures that you get all the extra gubbins that seem to cost a fortune otherwise.

This is apparently brand new, direct from Dyson and with a two-year warranty. The only slight concern is this bit - "Please note, the outer packaging may be subject to light cosmetic damage."

I've bought one myself so will report back when it arrives. They might be shifting these off cheap as they've rebadged the DC59 Animal as the 'V6 Animal' - dyson.co.uk/vac…spx

Box includes:

DC59 Animal
Battery
Charger
Docking station
Combination tool
Crevice tool
Mini motorised tool
Carbon fibre motorhead
Flexi crevice tool
Soft dusting brush
Wide nozzle tool

We just got this model from eBay / Dyson refurbished for £210 with a years dyson guarantee . In Dyson box all brand new. Delighted.

The wife bought one Christmas, i thought she was mental paying £300 for a hoover. But i must say this is one of the best things we have ever bought, it takes all the hassle out of hoovering & it's well worth the money imo.

Before all the comments about battery time, we have a 3 bed house a dog kids & it does the job better than any vac we have ever owned.

Totally agree. Its quality and makes vacuuming the stairs an absolute doddle. Well worth it at this price.

I wish I'd got that deal! Well done

I just bought this from sainsburys for £199.

anyone could compare these with G tech multi by any chance?

Thanks

Which store? The deal for £199.99 was posted 2 weeks ago but I've rung all the stores round here (Lancashire) and none in stock anywhere. All are now just stocking the new v6 models.

Yes I got one from sainsburys in Bristol (last one) and its ace!

DC59 has a design flaw with the filter falling out if you turn the machine upside down when it's off..I'd pay £50 more and buy the updated V6 model or buy the lower end DC44 or even DC35.neither suffer from this design flaw.

Got the refurbished deal, fine BUT turned up minus the filter. They don't have one in stock so going for the new deal now.

It turned up this morning. Box and hardware are both brand new.

I was hoping that I could use it to replace my Gtech Airram (so I could flog it and get some of the cash back) but the battery life is nowhere near as impressive, so I don't think it's viable for doing a complete sweep of the house.

However, it does the job I bought it for beautifully - amazing for cleaning stairs, crevices, nooks and crannies. It's also stunning for getting dog hair off the sofa, even if that does require the battery-sapping 'max power' mode. Max power mode is pretty impressive though - lifting up stuff the Airram can't.

Bought one thanks!
