£270 for a hairdryer!!!

Well blow me down.

I could get blown a lot cheaper

Dannysubaru

I could get blown a lot cheaper

And probably just as fast...

Obscene money. No wonder dyson has so much land if muppets keep paying silly dough for average performing plastic

Can you not just set the Dyson V6 Animal into reverse and use it as a hairdryer.

Doesn't work on Dyson did you actually use it?

All the people with negative comments I take it you all drive Dacia Duster's??

It's a far superior hair dryer to your bog standard hair dryer.

any good as a vibrator??

Heat from me first time I've seen it below rrp of £299
Guess there's quidco/tcb aswell?

Good find, I'm tempted - easier than straightening your hair every day

Heat added obviously people don't understand quality

But this isn't a gold plated hair dryer?

Just phoned them , they wouldn't accept the discount code - only on other non-dyson products.

Heat from me!
I always said I would never have bought this even if I had the means to throw away such an amount on something as silly as a hairdryer, but I won one from work and it's fantastic. If and when it breaks I'll be buying a new one
Edited by: "missy89" 5th Jan

Tried for weeks before xmas looking for discounts none worked bought at John Lewis for £299 expecting to return....but wife absolutely loves it!! wouldn't knock it 'til you've tried it..Heat from me £30 is worth saving

I got my sister one of these for Christmas and she said it is fantastic. It really is way better than the GHD hair dryer. It maintains temperature so no burnt scalp, its lighter, dries faster, (I don't work for Dyson). She has long thick hair which naturally goes curly and requires lots of straightening. She says this dries her hair straighter too, so the hair straighteners do not need to be so hot. (Cloud nines)

She told me that before this, the hair used to be left for like half a day to dry, then blow dry to 40 minutes, then straighten for 20 minutes.

This is no waiting for it to dry, blow dry for 20 minutes, straighten for 10 minutes.

She really did comment on how good this actually was.

Best brother award, the other good thing is I got it from Boot for £256 before Christmas with another voucher.

Must have rocks in your head to pay for this!!!

at £270 its 'gold plated' you're just not seeing it...

I bought this with a code from boots a while ago and got it for £254 and it's amazing...some people's comments are a bit rediculous. If you think it's expensive for what it is without ever using it and having zero personal knowledge then move on from the post. Don't post negatively towards the poster as this is a deal. Too many trolls on here. The reviews say how amazing this is. I have one and can attest to it's worth so take the negativity elsewhere.

if it was some screen wash saving them £1.15 it would have 2000 degrees by now ,

Not if it cost 15 times the price of leading competitors.

Worth is all relative and I think you'll find that most people will find the excessive cost compared to leading competitors of an equal performing product the deal breaker here hence the negativity and ridiculous comments in your opinion.

Might be good but 5 times as good as an equal standard competitor it is not therefore without trying it or having personal experience of it I will continues to vote cold on a product that takes the mick with its pricing regardless of performance

There is no product that performs equally. It's been proven in reviews and personally I can say that my old hairdryer was ghd and I've used other ones

More one star than 5 star user reviews on amazon:- amazon.co.uk/d/H…yer

A sizeable portion of the 1 star reviews are actually from people who feel the need to comment on the price of the hairdryer rather than their experience of the product itself which skews the statistics.

Everbody has different ways of judging the value of things; some people dream about owning the aforementioned gold plated Ferrari, whereas others will not understand the attraction because they regard that simply as a 'car'. Therefore, to them, there is no difference between the gold plated Ferrari and a Fiat Panto (other Italian and non-Italian car brands and models are available)...

Ultimately this is a good deal for those looking specifically for this hairdryer.

It didn't though you admitted you had to ring them up to get them to honour it
Shame as I would have ordered at 270 minus 5% quidco.

It's a good deal for Dyson as all the lemmings rush to buy the latest must have gizmo, never questioning whether it's worth what they're paying. The technology isn't revolutionary. It's been around for decades albeit not in a hairdryer. Really difficult to see what's in it to justify the price.

Yes but they honoured it because it showed on there just didn't deduct off the amount
Try it
If you tell me how to upload pic I will show you

Thanks but it's too much messing about for me. Hopefully Argos will stock it and il get 10% staff discount there

Hot for those who can afford it and appreciate such a revolution in the blowdry market.

Let's take a moment to appreciate how GOOD this dryer is and how much SENSE its functions make + it's on a discount relative to its RRP.

Check all the professional reviews about this and its unanimously a better hair dryer than everything else they've used; like iPhone of the smartphone world when it was first released in 2007, the dyson supersonic basically reinvented the blowdryer.

Functions to appreciate that NO OTHER blowdryer has today:
- Location of fan is in the handle - The simple placement of the fan in the handle makes it so much less strain to hold a blowdryer. Anyone who has used a blowdryer for more than a minute knows the feeling of the having the balance the blowdryer with more wrist strength the longer you blow.
- Magnetic attachments - Also seems like a no brainer... Most blowdryers just use a plastic rim and snap on which loses fitting overtime (some don't even fit well the first time and leaks air).
- No metal heat grill - If your hair touches the grill; you know your hair is instantly damaged... but its faster to dry the hair the closer you put it to the grill. Damaged hair sucks. Most of us dudes just don't understand this. Ever look in a mirror and notice that 1 weird looking hair that is out of place, extra long, sometimes frilly, and without thinking the solution is to pull it out? Now multiply that by a hundred for long hair when it gets damaged and pulling them is not a solution; you're stuck with hundreds of strands of annoying crappy hair thanks to a blowdryer.
- Dynamic temperature adjustment - Blowdryers don't do this. You set it to hi, lo, or cool and that's the constant temperature it blows without regards to your hair. Blowdryers have no concept of the temperature that is actually blowing on your hair. The dyson monitors the temperature outflow and adjusts dynamically if its too hot.

Yes, this is a very premium price for personal use, but this is also not paying for your everyday blowdryer. I personally don't own one, I just appreciate how big of a leap it has given to the blowdrying world and maybe some of these innvocations will trickle down to cheaper products in the future.

Cheapest price you can get it for currently. Heat added.

Got it. Great deal. Had to ring up to tell them and they logged a case and asked me to call them for a 10% refund once dispatched. Done this via Quidco and received a further £15 off! Thank OP.

Worked a treat thanks OP
