I've been waiting for these to drop a bit - best price I've seen so far.
Anyone got one of these?
Always put off by the poor pointless battery, why do they not address this at such a high cost.

Shame its Costo. They want £15 for an annual subscription or a surcharge of 5% for non members. Great price for members though so heat added. Looking for one of these but holding out for £250.
Is this cheaper in store? As online they usually include the delivery charge.
Bought this last week for £175 directly from dyson. Great for that price but wouldn't really wanna pay any more than that

Good price for anyone. You don't need to be a Costco member, you just need to know a Costco member, and they can get one for you or you could go along with them as a guest.

I have the original DC59 Animal which is now re-branded as the V6 Animal, and has the same attachments mentioned in your original post.

We bought ours in February last year and must say that it's been one of our best purchases in recent years. It is expensive as you can get a proper full size Dyson for similar money, but for us, vacuuming is now less of a chore.

#1 - It's easily accessible:
We store ours at the corner of the kitchen, where it is mounted on the wall bracket / charging base. It's within easy reach whenever we need to use it. Our other cylinder Dyson lives in the cupboard under the stairs, tucked behind (amongst other things) a set of tall metal drawers on castors. So it is a hassle getting the damn thing out. We've only used that a couple of times since.

#2 - It's cordless (obviously!) and light.
No more having to lug a heavy vacuum cleaner around the house and up/down the stairs. No power cord to trip over, or having to stop a few times while you switch power sockets.

We paid £349 for ours, but got £50 cashback as part of a promotion. I wouldn't hesitate paying full price if I had to buy one again.

I'm willing to bet someone somewhere has bought one of these at some point since they were released.
You can get the Gtech Air RAM, plus there Multi hand held in a bundle for £299! Best cordless vacuums out there. Link

The battery is not as bad as you think. We can do the whole of our 3 bed semi (+ the loft conversion) without the battery dying. The runtime using standard suction is something like 20 minutes. And 6 minutes on the max suction setting. But realistically as the Dyson is trigger operated, you wouldn't have it on constantly (unlike a normal mains powered vacuum cleaner).

Admittedly I also had the same concern when we first bought it, but ours is almost 2 years old and the battery is still fine. Another thing is that, for us anyway, we don't often vacuum the whole house in 1 go anymore. Whereas we used to spend maybe 30 minutes doing the whole house, but since getting the DC59, we tend to do the high traffic areas more (i.e. whole of ground floor and stairs), then the landing bedrooms etc.

Couldn't agree more.

Not sure what cordless Dyson someone on here bought for 175, but i would put money on it that it wasn't the V6 Animal. Possibly one of their older models.
It's £249.98 direct from Dyson, but it seems like it's without the animal hair tool. Still, a £10 saving for those without pets and no need for Costco membership. Link below.

It's a really good vacuum cleaner. Surprisingly powerful. As in you read the reviews and you know that it's powerful but until you actual have one in your hand you don't realise quite how good it is. With Max mode the battery will only last about 5-7 minutes. It doesn't sound like a lot but it's enough to do at least 1 or 2 jobs really well. Remember you won't be using this like a normal vacuum cleaner. If you spill something you'll grab it right away to clean up the mess and then put it straight back on the charging cradle so it does change the way you vacuum and you won't really notice the battery life. It's not amazing as a car vac however unless you buy the flexible hose extension.

+1 for this cleaner, good for the car as well, our upright Dyson cleaner has gathered dust since we bought one of these. Beware the cheaper ones without the tools as buying the tools separate can be more expensive. We use all the tools, smaller ones are stored on the charger, just the long tube & head to store elsewhere. I was dubious about Dyson's claim of 'suction like a corded cleaner' but there really is very little difference in suction between this cleaner and a Dyson upright cleaner. Easier to empty than an upright cleaner too.

Yes I have this model. The wife loves it we paid £289. Its a brilliant vacuum its worth it for us as we have kids its always out.

The vacuum its self is great and very handy. Only down sides I have came across are
1. Rubbish bin is small
2. Long hair gets tangled in the head (bit on the floor) also around the cylinder in the bin.

I don't find the battery a problem but I can see why people would have a problem. We live in a 3 bed house and the 17 mins battery is fine

Agree about buying the extra tools separately. They can end up being very expensive, but its probably worth noting that depending on what you use it for you may end up never using certain tools. This is the best deal I can find if you want a large selection of tools dyson.co.uk/tv I have a older version and use it all the time to clean up after the kids but i find it works great in the car too when they make a mess. Def worth it

No it doesn't. According to Dyson (from previous posts here) they are specially designed for each market so it could be a bit of a risk.
Why is this hot while the same Dyson (V6 animal) posted around the same time for a lower price got a cold rating? Is their a difference?

Yes, there is indeed a massive risk of having to either purchase a £2 EU plug adapter, or a £15 UK Dyson charger, when buying a Dyson from Germany or France...

I have posted the V6 Absolute for cheaper than this (and it's a better model), and was voted very cold too. I think most people are voting about the product (many people think it's overpriced and useless because of its short battery life: I don't) as opposed to the discount/promotion
