Poor battery life aside, the V6 Car & Boat is a weapon ideal for car lovers who have cleaning OCD
A steal for £100
Who buys a second hand vacuum cleaner?
Is there any difference between the models?

Who buys a second hand vacuum cleaner?

Me, and it was like brand new not a mark on it looked more new than most new stuff i buy.
Perfect timing. My boat is a bit dirty. Not sure 20 minutes is enough for the whole boat though.
I've got the V6 stick and find its power mediocre as a handheld.
Bought a couple to cover the yacht. Cheers OP
Dyson tat is too heavy, overpriced (even for a tacky refurb) and parts are too brittle. Save yourself a lot of stress and get the superb Gtech AirRam. Mercury dropping.
Thanks Chanchi, bagged a V6 Car and Boat.
Thinking the accessories and the battery would be more bought separately and now my Tesco's V6 has company
Anyone got an opinion on dc39? Looks like a good bargain from the same seller.

Heres the Which? review scored 68%, would have scored higher if the price was lower

Pros

The Dyson DC39 Multi Floor is a cylinder vacuum cleaner that comes with a 'Musclehead' tool that is claimed to self-adjusts on all floor surfaces to provide the best cleaning. We sent it to our test lab to see how well it sucks up dust, debris and pet hair from carpets and hard floors. Read our review to find out. It's great for hard floors, suitable for allergy sufferers, and cleans fluff and lint from upholstery incredibly well.

Cons

No significant flaws.

This Dyson is a good vacuum cleaner, but it isn't quite up to the standards of our Best Buys, as it's only average at cleaning up large debris and getting fine dust out of carpets. Some users say that emptying the bin is messy and difficult, too.

What is it?

The Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Cylinder vacuum cleaner is a premium-priced vacuum cleaner with a medium-sized 2-litre capacity. It has almost a 10-metre reach, which is about average for this type of vacuum.

This Dyson sits on a ball, which Dyson says makes it more manoeuvrable and easier to navigate around the home.

The Musclehead floorhead has a low profile so it can get under low-lying furniture and it self-adjusts between floor surfaces, so you shouldn't need to constantly bend down and fiddle with different settings to get the best performance.

This vacuum comes with a crevice tool and upholstery brush - all you will need to get into those tough-to-reach places.

What's it great at?

If you have plenty of hard floors in your home, you'll be very pleased to hear that this vacuum cleaner excels at getting fine dust out of the type of deep crevices you might find in traditional floorboards. It's also good at getting fine dust off flat laminate floors.

You'll have no trouble sucking up fluff from sofas and upholstery with this machine, and it's good at removing ground-in long hair, too.

It's a great choice for allergy sufferers, as the filters keep nearly all of the nasty fine dust and allergens that it does suck up locked deep inside. We've found that bagged models are better suited to allergy sufferers, however. It's a very energy-efficient vacuum cleaner, too.

Is there anything I should watch out for?

This vacuum cleaner is a good all-rounder and doesn't disappoint in any areas.

Is there anything else I should know?

While it doesn't disappoint, it doesn't excel in some areas either. It's only average at cleaning on carpets and average at removing large debris, such as lentils, from flat hard floors. We also didn't particularly find this vacuum cleaner any easier to use than most, despite Dyson's claims.

Many people complain how unhygienic it is to clean the filters on this Dyson, as well as how messy the job of emptying the container is.

Should I buy it?

Possibly, yes. This is a good vacuum cleaner but, considering the price, there are better vacuum cleaners available that won't leave such a hole in your wallet.

Nice. I already have one for the car so this will go with the boat nicely.
Does the car and boat only come supplied with car charger? Or does it include a mains adaptor as well?

Err, not it wouldn’t. Which scores ignore prices.
Great. I just need to get a car or boat now.
Sorry chanc but these Dyson handhelds are absolutely useless. Suction power is dreadful and they are a bugger to clean out. They seem to glide over bits of crumbs and don't pick up a thing but then the reservoir is full of hair and dust that needs emptying every 2 minutes. They are a complete pain.

Who buys a second hand vacuum cleaner?

You're missing the point. Would suspect that plenty of these are returns, hardly used.
Has anyone got a recommendation for a really basic (cheap) but powerful stick cordless for hard floors. I've already got a Dyson ball vacuum and as a fit, and strong human, the heavy'ness and poor maneuverability ruins my life, although it does its job well. Having messy kids, wooden floors throughout downstairs and arthritis though means I need a cheap machine capable of a 5 minute crumb sweep every day. I've had an old lady style sweeper for years but all it does is push bits around wooden floors rather than pick anything up. Amazon reviews on cordless stick devices are so inconsistent that my brain melts every time I pluck the courage up to do some research for the 200th time. Anyone got a tried and tested cheap recommendation?

The hoover head is tiny, which in some ways is good fits into some gaps but means I have to cover more area.
