If you go online to Dyson, you can get a Dyson V6 cordless stick vacuum cleaner for £149.99 (norm £199.99) when using the MSE Blagged code MSE50 at the checkout until 11.59pm on Tue 1 Oct. Delivery's free (scheduled, or next working day if you order before 8pm).

The Dyson V6 comes with a charger, wall docking station, and the accessories pictured below:

Where to enter the codeAt the Dyson site, you'll need to enter the code at the 'Payment' stage of the checkout (after you've entered your details and chosen delivery option) in the 'Have you got a promotional code?' drop-down – see below.

How good is this deal?
While this isn't the latest model, it's been a popular one, and it's the lowest price we've ever seen for a new Dyson cordless stick vac. Of course, Dyson products aren't the most MoneySaving - its latest 'V' vacuums typically cost £500 or more – so if Dyson's a brand you like, then at £150, we think this deal definitely doesn't suck.

A cheaper alternative to buying brand new is sometimes to look at refurbished models. For example, you can get a refurbished V6 slightly cheaper from the Dyson eBay outlet for £139.99. However, this isn't brand new and only comes with a one-year guarantee, compared to two years when you buy new from Dyson.

This or the Gtech one that's always on tv during the day?

I've got the Gtech. I was a strong advocate of it, but things have moved on since Mr. Grey came up with his designs 5 or 6 years ago. Everything since is just a revised edition of the original concept where he addresses some of the weaknesses in the previous design. I bought the combo pack thinking it's all I'll ever need, but it wasn't long before I sought out a Miele to do the vacuuming properly.

The Gtech's are ok, but suction isn't enough to be able to replace your corded vac, it's a supplemental odd job vacuum. Without the spinning brush, the handheld offers very little cleaning performance.

Emptying the bin is a pain in the harris, so much so, that I've gone and ordered an additional core filter off eBay for £3 (hey! Made In China, as is the original - if Grey thinks I'm going to keep lining his pockets - he can whistle) so I can wash one and use t'other whilst it dries (takes almost two days to dry properly without placing on radiators which is a no-no according to the instructions).

The Air Ram Mk1 - the rubberised wheels are degrading, gently peeling away on their own accord despite being used maybe 20 times in the last 3 years, not even a month's intended usage. Cleaning it out is a test of patience and breathing control. Dust cloud city then you've got to clean any surface within half a metre of where you emptied it.
The Air Ram Mk2 has the compactor with the slider which is advertised as easier to empty, but you notice how the handheld Multi isn't demonstrated at all, in fact the TV twin of Nick Grey, he's just standing next to the other smug-ish Nick (who's just emptied his Air Ram Mk2, with a slide), thinking when's this blasted advert going to finish so that I can clean the bstrd dust canister off camera.

Ol' Nick's released a bagged version of the Multi, but I think that's more indication that he's lost or is losing faith in a bagless that performs.

The only things the GTech have over the Dyson is the greater battery life (but you can't boost power level, it's on or off, Dyson has off, medium, high) and it's considerably cheaper than full price Dysons.
I bought the latest Multi Mk2 for under £90 on sale on Amazon to have for the car, the stairs - somewhere I need a compact brush-bar vacuum.
If I was spending the full £150 they normally ask for, I'd either buy another Miele for downstairs, or for the sake of convenience and to satisfy my curiosity, I'd give a Dyson a try. The V6 main negative is the dustbin, but for quick clean ups, I'd give it a try at £150. The V8 is where he started thinking about a mechanism to help get it reasonably clean without having to intervene. The V11 is just stoopid expensive.

They're all still a pain in the arris to clean if you like the look of a clean bin as if it were just taken out of the packaging. I mean, you've mounted it on a wall to kinda show off to your house visitors. Last thing you want is for them taking a look inside to see tufty bits amongst greyed carpet fibres or cocoa pops or shreddies. ('Ooooh! Look, they feed their kids cocoa puffs. Lousy parenting, should be ashamed of themselves!)

i bought one of these from someone for £100 brand new, absolute steal and the best thing iv ever bought, dead light great suction and easy to use, only issue is battery only lasts 8 mins on max power but thats all i need tbh
OneGloveOnTheFence11/09/2019 08:48

It's the best thing you ever bought??

Leave 'em alone.
I'd be more concerned that they're happy with the 8 minutes duration.

Doesn't look like it does. Tried on the V11, says it accepts the code but no discount applied to the price.
Can't even add to basket.

Not able to add it into basket

Agreed, absolutely brilliant !!!! Can zip around in a few minutes, even picks up husky hair as good if not better than our old corded Animal Dyson.

Waiting for a chance to get it for a 100, too.

this guy is selling a 4000 mAh of a Dyson replacement battery when most are advertised as 3000.
No idea if it's cack or not.

That's the other advantage of the V6 over the V10 (not sure about the V7 & V8) you can replace the batteries.

It's refurbished.
The deal is for a brand new unit.
Found one in the street. It so good I bought a new one the V6 Animal just to have it. It was 135 new on ebay. Next day delivery too and 2 year warranty. Have a look
Had a v6 and replaced it with a v10. The v6 is good but it has a few drawbacks. The head clogs up very easily if it picks anything up that’s bigger than a pea. Also the container bin is awkward to empty and rarely empties completely without poking a stick into the bin to get the rest out.
The v10 has none of these drawbacks, it’s a vastly improved model - for a price.

Gotta disagree with you there. I got my first one three years ago and it's brilliant - still going strong. I bought another refurbished one (practically brand new) with the last ebay 10% off code for £125 and that's even better. My two pick up cat hair, cat litter, dust and everything else that gets thrown at the floor by my two teenage boys, it's brilliant! Perhaps you were just unlucky with your one.
Go to eBay Dyson store £139.99 for a V6 refurbished (I got one they are like new) enter code playapp and it reduces it by a further £14 to £125.99!

Does anyone know how this compares against the shark vaccum cleaner?

It's not until you get to the payment section of the checkout, at the top

Hi yes I noticed it’s not out of stock as others mentioned it’s gone through fine for me
herbz10011/09/2019 13:47

Does anyone know how this compares against the shark vaccum cleaner?

Not a fan of the Shark.
You can see the American agricultural approach to making a device that's done so much better by other brands (European mainly), like their cars really.

Shark is all about that quirky elbow joint on the suction tube or the liftaway thing where you unmount the suction motor off the body.

Just strike me as not all that well thought out.

Plastics aren't all that either. It's all a bit too shouty, orange spin rollers, number of attachments, comes across as desperate attempt to qualify as a good value product, only the price is creeping upwards.

By the way, no cord rewind on these things, you've got to wrap that (apparently inferior) power cord manually.
Last thing you want to do after a hard day at the office. Prepare to spear your foot on a discarded plug in the middle of the night.

Ive had one for about 4 years and still sucks as good as the first day. Have been using every other day for quick hoover.

Agree bin size is small so an issue as need to empty quite alot.

Id love a corded one but the thought of plugging it in then taking it out and plugging it in and taking out actually puts me off, but the suction would be much greater.

Alot of people go on about the miele ones but the bag puts me off. Used to have a bag hoover and it was pain in the left gluteus maximus.
Just got one from Dyson eBay store for £125. Supposedly refurbished but it brand new and registered with 2 yr warranty.

£14 surely - or am I missing something?
