Time to go for a newer model lol

How good are these? Do they actually pick up dirt.

that is a great price. I got exactly the same from dyson ebay outlet a while ago for 170 odd to make the leap from corded cleaner for a three bed house and we are very pleased with it. Looked new, guarantee registered as two year (not sure if that will work as haven't needed it). It works well and I haven't needed to get the old vac out for six months so far. Suction is very good. V6 comes with good extras. You will need to empty the little bin regularly, preferably outside into wheely bin as it igets dusty. One tip - it started pulsing after a short time I thought the battery was shot. But it was a warning that suction wasn't right and after washing the filter under the tap and drying out it was fine again. I've had a miele before and the motor burned out. At this price it's great value IMO.

Adam, yes BUT the key differences are threefold.
They are light - no lugging a huge cylinder behind you to catch on to chairs etc.
They are manoeuvrable - the head can twist and turn to get into and under the smallest area. Little furniture moving.
They have no cord - no need to unravel it, it doesn't lasso every doorknob, drawer handle etc, no need to rewind at the end.
So what?
It's easy to get out at a moment's notice, give everything a quick suck, so to speak, no moving furniture and then away on its hanging charger (provided) in, literally, 2/3 minutes.
That means you are happy to get the thing out almost every day just to vacuum the most used areas like hallway and kitchen. Then if you've time a quick sojourn up the stairs to the landing and maybe a bedroom - all in 10 minutes.
Because you use it briefly on the well-worn areas regularly there's no build up of dirt and your house actually keeps cleaner.
The Dyson has a "boost" mode for anything putting up a fight (that does reduce the battery time) but I've never ever had the thing die on me as usually I'm done in 2/3 minutes in the areas I want to do regularly and 10 - 15 minutes if I get carried away with enthusiasm at any time - at 69 YO that doesn't happen too often I can tell you!
I've had my refurbished Dyson for 2 years now - it is excellent - our old Dyson with a cord now lives in the garage and keeps sawdust and cobwebs down in the shed from time to time.
Don't even think about it - if you need a new cleaner go for it!!

Hasn't anyone wondered why there are so many refurbs of these things around? Over priced stuff leaning on it's fashionable brand name for business (like an iPhone really).

PS I went for the total clean one which is same but comes with two extras, a smaller car cleaning turbo head which is quite useful and gets some use, and a soft extra head for cleaning hard floors which is only very slightly more effective than the standard one on a hard floor and doesn't get much use, but a useful spare, worth considering if you don't have much carpet. Works out at 188 with discount

Thanks Tubster, that's tempting. A V6 Total Clean is currently £305 new on Amazon Marketplace (which was the best price I could find).

Like many other people (I imagine), I'm wondering if the price will drop sufficiently on the new models on Black Friday. As it stands, this re-furb carries a healthy discount.

Dyson warranty is great. Any problems whatsoever they send you a new item no quibbles. They then refurb that item and sell it on. Costs them nothing and keeps their customers happy and loyal. These refurbs are covered by their warranty.

They are brand new for £170 on qvc today, qvcuk.com/Dys…IST

Does anyone know when the code is active until?

It states on the ebay front page banner that it ends 2nd Nov. Not live for long.

The V6 also gets a best buy Which? review for best value cordless - 75 per cent

"The Dyson V6 has many of the benefits of the newer V8 and V7 range of cordless Dyson vacuums, but is more than £100 cheaper. It cleans brilliantly and is just as easy to use as the V8 Absolute, it just has fewer extras and a slightly shorter battery life."

I wasn't convinced and not willing to part with £200 I thought I'd buy one on gumtree £60 and it's brilliant: yes they do pick up dirt and are really light too

Have one for myself already, paid double this at the start of the year but for the V6 Total Clean and a free Dyson accessory pack. Can do the whole house (3 bed) on one charge of you don’t mess about. Grabbed one for my mum at this price, steal. Heat added 💥
