This price comes around once in a while. New price is ridiculous. Had a try of a few in Currys before Christmas. I was surprised how good they were (in store anyway). The MRS fancied one, So at this price she can. Hopefully some owners can give some user reviews......

Why are so many of these handheld dysons refurbished???

Good point. Something I've been wondering.
People take them back in the 30 days after realising they are crap on carpet.

Love my dc44 for the hard floors, bit would never attempt carpet

£250 last time
I have a v6 total clean and it's ok on carpets but the battery is crap. Just bought an upgraded battery that should last a bit longer hopefully. You need to use the motorised head or high power to remove dog hair etc and it makes a huge difference if you regularly clean the top come filter.
Really need this but I have £100 Amazon voucher to use
Now £179
Sometimes you just get sent a new unit in the original sealed box! Even if not new (plan with box) they always look new!

The V7 has a better battery and emptying mechanism than the V6 and the new motorised head is bigger so works well on both carpet and hard floors. Then again I have no issues with battery life with my V6 and it works very well but it gets used daily (sometimes more than once a day) so dirt never gets too built up.
Thanks so much op.
Received mine and it looks like its new and unused- maybe a return? Or maybe its used and fixed up but they do a fantastic job on them before sending out as you would never know otherwise. Now to put it to the test

Yes, mine was not in the original box, but looked brand new, i like it, full power is amazing, normal power is good for hard floors. No issues, but i've only used it a handful of times so far.

Ha I've vacuumed the whole house twice already easily pleased..
Ordered mine first thing yesterday and despite advised delivery date for tomorrow has just arrived No sign of anyone else having used it - looks brand new. The box is Dyson branded, if a bit plain. Now to see if I can get the two year warranty. I'll report back on how it works once it's charged. It's going to replace our old full size DC15 Ball, which my daughter has claimed for her student house. I'm banking that the V7 will get used much more because it's less of a faff to use?
Just done a typical vac of my home (extended 3 bed semi), not including 2 of the bedrooms, but including the stairs and thw whole of downstairs. Very impressed. Never felt the need to use the high power mode though I tried it briefly. Standard mode noise is really not too obtrusive at all, high power still tolerable. I needed to empty it twice but this is very simple and as the quantities are small I used the kitchen bin rather than having to go outside and use the big council bin. The smaller (animal?) power head is brilliant for the sofas where the cat's favourite corner is and also the stairs. It's better than my big DC15 because that doesn't have the powered rotating brushes for use on the stairs. Really pleased all round. The only problem is finding a place for the docking stand close to a plug socket. Looks like you can't get the 2 year warranty. I thought I'd read some had managed this but I think they had bought via Dyson's Outlet store. No probs - I reckon 'refurbs' are indeed new units but with 'only' one year warranty and that must amount to a cost-saving to Dyson represented in the cheaper price.

They appear to be brand new and in an official Dyson box, just without the retail bling and only with a 1 year warranty instead of the usual 2 year one. I could accept that mine may have been an open box return repackaged but there was no way it had ever been used.

Wow - ordered one yesterday for my wife's aunt; wonder if it was the last one? My daughter now has our full size DC15 and took it to her uni house yesterday - she says she and her housemates filled it twice! Eurgh!
