I got the V6 it’s decent at picking up dirt without lugging the larger Dyson about but I don’t feel entirely satisfied with the suction power in the lower setting and the Max setting just kills the thing in 5mins.

I wouldn’t invest in this unless the larger V10 and above start dropping but i am beginning to be swayed by shark hoover which I tested and it was fantastic.

I've had a few dysons over the years and they never seem to get any better. They do work great for the first few times, once they get full of dust, they're rubbish and they are never the same. Don't waste your money lining Dyson's pockets, funding his filthy rich lifestyle and make him make a decent vac rather than a design piece.
Every Dyson I have had has been terribly engineered. The final nail in the coffin for me was Mr Dyson campaigning for Brexit, then moving production to Singapore. Never again.
Barking mad to spend this much on a dust collector.

Goes up like prices at Xmas
Really should be v8 at this price given the age of the model

I think the V8 is on offer for £299
I think last year it was v6 at these prices. The price doesn't seem to drop all that much

Yes its shark hoover v dyson for me, I camelled this morning
I think you get 2 Years with Handhelds with Dyson anyways. At least the handhelds I've had since 10 years ago have had it, still do to this date and a Dyson rep told me the other day.

Covers the motor and all parts/labour as well as accessories inside as they have their own warranty.

Got a Tineco S12 pure one smart for £268 to replace my v8. It blows it away. It’s almost as good as v11 in reviews. Get spare battery too which is removable.

That could be their tag line

“Almost as good as a Dyson”
Who else 'Hoover's' up? They really got it right back in the day, a brand name that became an action and what happened to them! Whilst I continue to 'correctly' 'vacuum up' let's hope we never term 'Dyson up'.
This is the one i been eyeing up and been waiting for the price to drop, however hopefully currys match as i have £60 of gift vouchers to use.

You do it’s 2 years parts and labour and usually a 2 week wait for engineer to come out and Fix fault. Shark cover theirs for 5 years on the unit itself and 2 years on the battery.

Yeah thought so.

My friend had his engineer within 2-3 days though.

Every time I’ve dealt with Dyson it’s taken an average of two weeks to send someone out up north and that’s been about 7 repair visits. Converted to shark now and won’t be going back if theirs develops a fault they don’t bother with engineers you just call them and they replace whatever needs replacing within 3 days via courier.

Wow really.
That's cool!

But in London maybe there are more Dyson engineers or more demand? Not sure.

Shark is definitely more affordable. What's a good cordless of Shark?

That's because you need to clean the filters regularly. Have an upright (think it's a dc06 or 7) which I've had since 2007, looks and sucks like new. Also have a v6 which I've had since 2013, still on original battery and still like new.
The amount of peoples homes I've been too and seen their vacuum in corner of kitchen or downstairs toilet and the bin is way past max is unreal, so dread to think what filters are like if they can't even empty the bin.

Can't say I've had an issue. Had a split in stair hose on dc06 and they sent a replacement out the next day.
Shark have a good "Scene" rep but the products in reality are garbage. They may look like they suck good with the "carpet lines" but the suction isn't great, it's just the brush bar. Plenty of proper reviews on YouTube for it or look up thevacmat on instagram.

Reviews in general are split and I've had 5 replacement hoses for my DC33 and 3 for the DC40. Have 4 Dyson's and 2 sharks and have always found the shark units pick up better.

It could yeah. The reviews say it’s close anyhow and better in some ways. Almost half the price when I bought it so it’s much better value imo. Plus it’s so much better made than my last dyson.

I own the IF130UKT which is a decent unit paid £279 but was on offer the other week for only £199 also comes with pet motorised power tool which is Handy. The duo clean feature on it is also good. Look out on Amazon for it as amazon also did it on prime day for £199
Hmm, Thanks for the shout on Tineco, they are a spin off company from China, Parent company is Ecovacs - en.wikipedia.org/wik…ics

Though I don't agree with Dyson with some aspects, I'll stick to that, or VAX or Numatic.

Not exactly this type of vacuum, but it's Sebo all the way for me. Ive had my present one for 19 years.

Your dyson V6 model was released over four years ago and is now obsolete. Try comparing a dyson V7 and above with Shark cordless and you will find that Dyson will be much better at cleaning carpets.
Is it really gonna be that much better than a similar refurbished Hoover/Vax off ebay seller "direct vacuums"?
They olnly cost £50-£80

Why do they not give a 5 year warranty like the mains ones they sold
Will never touch a Dyson. Most useless vacuum cleaners around imo
