Cheapest v8 absolute on the market?

Cheapest v8 absolute on the market?

I think so. I suspect it will get cold votes as it's an expensive piece of equipment for a Hoover but if you want a V8 this is a good price so hot for me.

"Muhh can't afford it so vote cold "

Remember when this site voted hot deals hot?

Wish they'd do a lime green one...go lovely in my kitchen!

...still too expensive though, £240 and it's more like it.

This is just a vacuum cleaner - so it is rather poor value (hence a bit cold).

This deal is NOT on. I called AO just now and they said they don't offer 10% over the price-match price.

They do and they did when I ordered it last night.

It's an expensive brand, but as with everything else in the world (cars, clothes, etc) people may want a certain brand / model. Therefore deal is hot if it's the best price. I don't want an iPhone, Samsung note, as they're just phones but I don't vote them all cold. A deal should be based on value against the market prices not perception.

Thanks Gavin. They refunded the price difference

Brilliant!!!

I called them and they said they would not do 10% off a matched price. I said they had done previously and they said that's a mistake. They did offer me 5% off the 377 as good will.

I think we will have to agree to disagree bigmick777; I respect your point but I'll never be convinced that a vacuum cleaner is worth well over £300 when one that does exactly the same job (clean up the house) can be had for a quarter of that, so I can't agree this is a good deal whatever the badge is.

That's fine but if you can show me one with a spec the same as the dyson v8 for less then I would be interested (I tried to get a comparison with the vax 32v) . Not trying to be funny (and I haven't bought one of these) but there are features here that are different than a normal vac. If I followed your reasoning we would vote cold on expensive cars, watches, everything where we could find an alternative etc. For me this site is about finding the best deal for something I am already looking for. I could vote cold on loads of stuff that I didn't think was suitable for me.

Again, I can see you point, but I have a different perspective. I wrote something the other day that perhaps you would have seen comparing this with three Vax machines I use - the point was they achieve the same thing (and I think rather better when it comes to clearing up Bob the dog's hairs) as the Dyson at about a quarter of the cost.

I don't just dislike expensive things (I drive a Porsche and like nice watches), but I have trouble seeing the value of paying a lot extra for a badge to achieve the same effect.

It looks (to me) like quite a few others have voted against this one as it is currently at -30 degrees, but I'm one of the few that has taken the time to explain why. I'm not trying to pick a fight - but rather to show there is an alternative way of looking at this problem that is far less expensive and perhaps better.

I would like to see a unbiased comparison between dyson, vax, bosch etc. The dyson would appear to have significantly more suction that the vax rivals but how effective that is I don't know. I can't comment on the vax at all as never had one. I have an old version of the dyson cordless as well as a dyson upright and the quality and customer service has been fantastic. The cordless I got reconditioned from dyson outlet. I honestly find it difficult to compare against vax as different accessories, battery, suction. Trusted review comparison had dyson v8 at 10/10, the vax 9/10. Whether the extra point justifies over £100 price rise I honestly don't know but as I don't know I've stuck to the fact that this deal is the best price at the moment for the V8.

Just called... mentioned the go electrical price and they said they can price match with a further 10%... thanks so much for posting! No idea why this deal is cold... not seen a v8 absolute for under £350 brand new yet!

show them the receipt. They have to pricematch their own deals first. They refunded the 10% when I showed them Gavin's receipt.

Thanks Gavin! You are a star!

I did the same as they said they couldn't. Bonus if you get it but worth a try

very nice price. I just got the v7 animal at at £219 and thought that was a steal. This is also a great price for people who want the latest

So I called back and spoke to someone else. They had no issue whatsoever price matching then adding 10% interesting that they then said that will be £339.31. I didn't argue, checked invoice and v8 absolute delivered for 339.31

Just ordered another one for a family member £340.11.

Do you need to place the order first and then order the Dyson V8 ?

Or you order it first and then call CS to pricematch to refund the difference?
