It's what it does with moulded plastic and motor!

After all even diamonds are just dust - aren't they?

nice price with the price mach as I usually use ao. I really want to invest in a cordless but wasn't impressed with the v6 I tried. So always looking at the v7 and v8

What is the battery life really like on these. The spec say between 7 and 40 minutes. Can you do more than one room?

How long does it usually take you to vacuum one room?
I've got 2 of these, best handheld by far. I use it on low power on carpets otherwise it can be hard to push (yes it's that powerful) battery lasts a good 20mins then. Expensive but worth it.

For the absolute this is a bargain. We paid 369 for the animal. We always use ours on full suction and we have a malting dog at the moment, it easily does the front room, dining room, kitchen, hallway and the stairwell with a bit to spare.
After buying cheaper cordless vacuum cleaners and being very disappointed we recently bought a V8. Amazing machine and I can do the whole house in one charge on lower setting and house isn't tiny! Good price for this model
Great price, nabbed it from Go Electrical for this. Not sure why cold?
Cheapest price at the moment so hot if you want one

I suppose it is because Dyson products are not very good value. They are undoubtedly well made but many people will be happy to achieve the same effect with a perfectly adequate machine costing one third as much (I'd tend to agree, nearly £400 is unnecessarily expensive for a vacuum cleaner).

But it's still the best price for this item at present, so surely counts as a "hot deal"?

Meh...

I don't disagree with you, but it is not my perspective. I suppose that is why we have voting - to see how many people think it is a good deal and how many don't.

Yes it's expensive but I don't know of a handheld cordless cleaner that gets anywhere near this regardless of price. We have a previous model and for most things it replaces our upright.

I don't doubt you, but above I was explaining why I thought this was being voted rather cold.

Regardless of the quality I still think nearly £400 is too much for a vacuum cleaner, and I doubt this one would replicate the Vax machines I use at the moment. I have a corded upright for the downstairs rooms (because of the dog and the cat), a cordless upright for the bedrooms (for which it is perfect, but I don't think any cordless cleaners can cope with pet hair - Dyson ones included) and a cordless handheld for the stairs and difficult to access places (sames battery as the upright, which is convenient). All three cost together cost about £120 (during two different Vax sales) - so they do the same job as this one (I would wager better when it comes to pet hairs) for one third of the cost.

I don't have a dog in this fight, in that I don't buy Dyson products because they are needlessly expensive, but I voted cold because this is a public information site and I think that opinion may help someone else decide what is best for them. If this machine suits others, and they are happy to swallow the high price, then I hope they vote hot and take the time to explain why.

I do get it. I tend to look at the deal though not what the alternative products are. Wouldn't vote a Costa coffee deal cold because I can get aldi coffee. They are different products each with there own benefits. I like a cordless battery vacuum and this is the best price for the v8 absolute. I'd vote cold if I could get it cheaper.
