I'm after one but I'm holding out. I know I can use the Dyson outlet but I'd rather not.

That's a great find
Thanks for posting OP

People keep recommending the Shark over Dyson so I think one of those maybe my new cleaner.

Don't think I've seen a Total Clean v8 on there.

I got a V8 from the Dyson outlet on Monday for £220ish. First impression is that it's pretty good. Certainly handy to have a wall mounted charging station. It doesn't seem as effective as our Miele cylinder vac, but that's a 2200w model and I'd guess that the current lower powered ones (thanks Europe) are probably on a par. I'd also say that it's not as comfortable to use as the Miele... it's not exactly heavy (maybe 2.5-3kg?) but it's a bit awkward and unbalanced. Relatively happy with it, but glad I didn't pay £350 for a new one.

According to Which? your Miele (and mine) will do a better job on carpets (something like 80% vs 60% if I recall correctly) but the Dyson with its soft roller will do a marginally better job on hard floors. I think the weight of the Dyson is about 4 kgs incidentally.

Note that the 2200W of your Miele is the power it uses, not suction power. How well it cleans depends on the efficiency of the motor and airways, the filtration system, design of the head, etc. People who rushed out and bought high-power-consumption cleaners while they still could made a big mistake. Much as I dislike the EU, the new rules forced manufacturers to design better cleaners, to our advantage

If you read Which? you'd probably buy a Dyson (or Bosch) although the Shark certainly offers some benefits such as twin batteries, headlight and 5-year warranty (only 2 on the battery). Me, I'm waiting for the forthcoming Samsung Powerstick Pro or Bosch Unlimited.

Phone Dyson direct on 0800 298 098. They done that model for 329. Just bought it.

Shark requires a set of ear defenders

Can also purchase from Dyson on Live Chat at a loyalty bonus price of £329.99. I think you may already need to own a Dyson?

Those people banging on about the Shark, forget it. No comparison.

Yeah looks like Dyson are dishing out £20 discounts if you chat to them

I'm torn between the absolute and total clean as I love the black, but with total clean you get 3 additional bits.

If I order the Total clean, anyone willing to trade my red pipe for a black one?
PM me if interested (as long as the black one is new ie someone just ordering like myself)
