What is the E Cigarette?

The E-cigarette (also known as the electronic cigarette and electric cigarette) is the healthier alternative to the traditional cigarette.

Mad as it sounds, it literally allows you to smoke without smoking. Rather than toxic smoke, you breathe in vapourised nicotine.
Amazingly, the e-cigarette looks, feels and functions exactly like a real cigarette.

Since it does not contain any tobacco, you are free to smoke it anywhere you want, smoking ban or not!

Whats in the box?

1 x led cigarette with additional cartridge
10 x refill cartridges (with an average of 250 drags per cartridge)
1 x Usb charger

The e-cigarette Cartridge comes in 2 flavours and a variety of strengths:

Got this last week and can honestly say it works. Good price too as it comes with 11 cartridges.

Not a smoker myself so I was all for the smoking ban on the basis that it's just as harmful for the non-smokers as it is for the smokers. If this product was the answer to the smoking ban problem then I'd have though it would have been more widely publicised, but this is the first time I've seen it. Not voting as I'm not in a position to say if it's good or bad.

I am curious as to why there is cigarette smoke in one of the pictures in the gallery, surely if this thing is producing that much smoke/vapour it's going to be inhaled by others around the smoker making it just as addictive for them and thus will likely fall under the smoking ban eventually... or is it just an advertising gimmick?

I think the 'smoke' is actually water vapour.

these are banned on HUKD... spammed.

Absolute rubbish - as an ex-smoker I'm all for helping folks give up but not to simply substitute with another way of getting nicotine.

Far better invest the money in an Allen Carr book or audiobook for less than a tenner.

Why on earth would you need to 'weane' your way off a weak little drug like nicotine? People say it's so hard to give up smoking, I know we are all different but in my experience it's very, very easy. The hardest part is dealing with the misguided belief that it's really hard to give up! You don't get the shakes, you don't vomit, you don't hallucinate - that's what happens when you give up a difficult drug to give up. What are the side effects of giving up cigarettes? You get a bit moody for a couple of days!! MOODY!! Didums.

In 40 years we will look back at the 20th / early 21st century and wonder why on earth so many people were taken in by the multinational tobacco companies' marketing and why so many spent their hard earned cash on cigarettes.

Rant over.

I have a friend who smokes these, and I can honestly say it will m ake you unliked by both non-smokers and smokers alike.
My friend claims he is using this to get off smoking, but a few pints in and he's back on the full-fat ciggys.

I agree with the above posts (and i'm a smoker) - iof you want to give up smoking -> give up.

My 2 pence...

en.wikipedia.org/wik…ine :

According to the American Heart Association, "Nicotine addiction has historically been one of the hardest addictions to break." The pharmacological and behavioral characteristics that determine tobacco addiction are similar to those that determine addiction to drugs such as heroin and cocaine  as you say a weak little drug like nicotine :whistling:

lol well said

I read an article about these a few months back. To sum it up, the UK regulators don’t know how to classify these (what to classify them as) and as a result there has been NO EU style safety testing done with them yet. The companies selling them site various medical research which claim they are safe (they may well be) but these test have all so-far been funded by the companies them selves and i wouldn’t class them as independent.

Just a thought.

Have to say I agree with the above posts. If you want to stop then stop, it is exagerated how hard it is to stop and it is very easy to play the "I can't stop I am addicted" card.

Its a big bad world out there, if you want to stop this is not the way to go about it.

i think yo'll find alot of people who use these quit 'normal' smoking all togeather. it gives them a nicotine fix, without the the 1000's of chemicals in a cigrette. ecigs: harless or not - they cant be worse than normal cigrettes. they dont smell and save u alot of money.
