Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair reaches new heights in its gigantic military vs kaiju gameplay on PlayStation 4! Huge monsters clash with squads of giant robots as bomb-mounted tanks and flying troops equipped with laser rifles shoot it out with alien bug armies in the streets! With the new heavily-amoured Fencer class, the action has never been bigger or more explosive! EDF! EDF! EDF!

Such a fun series but they have always been budget titles at heart.
This was way too expensive when it first came out but this is a great price. About the same as I paid for the PS2 game years ago!
Just one word of warning though..........look out for giant insects.

Doesn't look too dissimilar to Transformers that will be free next month on Plus.

The only similarity is they both contain giant robots - EDF has more in common with something like Dynasty Warriors. Lottttttttttttts of baddies and lots of fun.

can say that about a lot of games then cant you,by your logic all FPS are the same, all RPG are the same etc because they share certain themes, hell by that logic you could say 90% of games are the same and there is no point playing them and really what was the point of your post, even if the where similar who really cares if someone enjoys that type of game??

I said 'Look' as in visually; quality of graphics, colour schemes, larger enemies...

I was very vague but what I meant was for £10.99 you may as well play a similar free game if it's an option to you!

No, not all RPG's are the same.

Yeah your right, just had another look at Transformers... Was going off memory which is clearly getting rusty LOL!

Have to agree with the other guy. I own both games and this doesn't have the same look or feel of the transformers game.

Completely different game styles, progression, this has 4 player co-op and this one will also take you 600+ hours to platinum it you want to try it, compared to transformers 10ish hours.

It's like saying you may as well get any car as they are all cars even though once you get inside they are all different.

Oh this is just a revamp of the last game?

I really enjoyed the last one and recommend it. But I won't be playing it all again lol

Never played an EDF game before so at this price I've gone for it X)

Thanks oUkTuRkEyIII heat added!

damn., i wish this was on PC or XBO

Yeah I've got the PC version on my wishlist but the price is still rather steep.
This is a great price for the PS4 version.

Price's gone up by £1 now.

I've got this and the PS Vita game from the series and love both of them. Not one for long slogs, but perfect for a quick level or two.

This is too cheap to pass. I played a lot of 2025 on PS3 so buying the PS4 port of it seems like a no brainer for this price.

This is one of my long-term plat projects (at about 30% completion now), so if anyone wants to play co-op on Hardest or Inferno difficulty, lemme know. My PSN ID is Kinky_Friedman (not what it sounds like ).
