EAST ANGLIA 26-30 Railcard - £30/year

Found 15th Jan
In preparation for the roll out of the 26-30 rail card a trial has started for people living in East Anglia.

Taken from the website:

We're always trying to bring out products that help. So we're trialling a 26-30 Railcard in partnership with Greater Anglia. As most trials go, we are releasing a limited number of Railcards only available to those living in East Anglia.

It is only available digitally, which means after you've bought your Railcard and downloaded the app you can start saving 1/3 on rail fares straight away.

You can get 1/3 off rail fares to travel across Britain, which means you can save money on trips into town, days out to the coast, or weekend breaks – as many times as you like for only £30 a year. You can afford to travel more, so you can finally go on that Lake District weekend trip you've been planning.

Usually, the cost of your Railcard will have paid for itself after one or two trips. Our customers save on average £190* a year, leaving you with a bit more money to eat out or save for a house.

They really are trail-blazers in East Anglia
Has there been any news on when this is likely to go nationwide?
Wow, you are really slow, this has been available for ages! I’m waiting for it to go live for the rest of us! Government said Spring for the rest of us in there last budget. I’ve only booked my trains up until beginning of March as we do t know when this will come out for the rest of us.

Don’t live in East Anglia, I’m 24... have no use for it so it isn’t on my radar. Noticed it hasn’t been posted before so thought I’d share it. Thanks for your feedback though
Why only those ages??? Is this legal?
@StevenTucker Thanks for posting, good to know

Strange place to trial it because we've only got a handful of stations which are miles away for most people, especially here in Norfolk. Huge areas not covered by rail. 12 miles to my nearest station. Quicker and cheaper to drive anywhere, sadly.
Since it’s a digital card, and the t&c says “1/3 off fares across Britain, is it possible to buy the card even if I live outside of east anglia? I noticed that for example transpennine express already has the 26-30 railcard discount option on its purchase page
