East End Chick Peas 400G 4 for £1.00 Tesco. I made hummus last week and it was better than the one I buy from the supermarket.
Ingredients:
1- One can of chick peas
2- 4 table spoons of Tahina
3- One lemon
4- salt

Wash the chick peas and in a sauce pan add clean water (just to cover the chick peas) and bring it to boil. Leave it to cool down a little bit and start the process (you need the warm water).

Empty the chick peas in the blender add water (just a little bit), the Tahina, lemon juice and the salt. Mix and adjust the thickness of the Hummus by adding the water from the chick peas. Please remember that the quality of the Tahina varies, so you might to add another spoon Bon Appetit!

I kept the Hummus in the fridge for 4 days and it was fine.
For your knowledge: Hummus in Arabic is a Check peas, hence, this is why is called Hummus.

You can also add a bit of cumin powder and/or some cayenne pepper to give it a little kick.

For me, the worse ones are Napoli brand. They are too big and soft... I like a bit of texture in mine and a more concentrated nutty taste.

Wow, that is as basic as it gets. He's using ketchup for the umami flavour depth. You instead could use an Indian pickle, mango for instance. Also instead of curry powder use some turmeric, tomatoes and fresh chillies. Doing this will make it much more lively and vibrant.

Ahhh love u guys, thanks heaps for the recipes. I'm a raging veggie & eat heaps of these..love um straight from the tin :))). Yummy!
