Thanks to Edi for the original post for Easy Touch @ Amazon. I came accross this set of 5.1 whilst perusing - a little more expensive but come with a handset for remote control and are in a teak / beach whatever type wood finish, which is a refreshing change to black / silver I think !

Don't know what this 6000w peak music power is - in real terms they're 80watts. 5 x 10w satellites and a 30w subwoofer; again from the look of it they don't need drivers so I'm guessing that anything with a headphone type jack plug will work with them.

For full spec go to :-

Remember the supersaver delivery, but again like Edi's post these are on a 4 - 6 week delivery backlog.

Foe those of you not wanting a full 5.1 surround systen there's a neat little 2.1 on offer at £16.30 delivered, again in the same wood finish. Take a look at

Its my understanding that it's not possible to plug 5.1 speaker systems into the average PC, that they only connect to certain soundcards. Also, if you want to connect them to a laptop a special adapter costing about £20 is required. And its not possible to wire them to the HiFi.This makes them pretty redundant for the average user. Can someone confirm if my understanding is correct.

4-6 week delivery, my experience with amazon tells me you wont get these with that delivery slot.

Most recent sound cards, including the ones that are buil-in motherboards, have digital output (either optical or co-axial) so plugging a 5.1 system shouldn't be a problem.

There's not even a description of them on Amazons site!

You can buy a basic sound card from ebay for about £6-£7 inc del which will support 5.1 surround sound and fit most pc's with a spare pci slot

are these any good ? i was looking at some sony's at double the price, but awaiting stock!

Looking at the online pics on the easytouch site, there is no digital input, only separate line ins for each channel. So basically, it's a 6 channel amplifier and speakers.

I wonder what the Advertising Standards Agency and the Office of Fair Trading would make of this 6000watt system, I'm actually tempted to report it

optical outputs aren't much use for plugging in speakers though, you need a decoder.
