I was a 20 a day man Marlly reds and after trying everything from patches, gum, hypnotherapy, fake cigarettes , cold turkey nothing worked for me I read this book 17 years ago and have not smoked. I am not sure it would have worked as an audiobook though as you need to get absorbed in the book. I wont tell you what it says as that may for some stop it working and it is better if you are still smoking when you read it just works better if you do it this way and half way through you will not want to smoke anymore or at least that is what happened to me and the 4 other people I lent the book to and the person who recommended it to me.

It really does work you still need a little bit of will power but if you want to give up I think that this is the best way
Thought he had his own chat show didn’t know he also wrote books?!!
Great method. It works if you want it to work. Better than anything else such as nicotine patch and vapes
I stopped my 25 a day 23 year habit Christmas 2016 simply getting up and stopping there and then. No gimmicks or books or Liquid pens that you never put down.
You have to want to stop and stop making the excuse ill do it tomorrow.
Its hard for the first week or so but does get easier.
But if you need help you need help.
Heat for the deal.

I read the book and stopped smoking, 20 years ago this year.
I don't smoke, but read a biography of his and gave this book to some people. I'm told it's great and deals with smoking in a very different way. Imho it's the only way real way as everything else I see involves using products to make it easier... This I'm told just makes you want to actually stop.
A relative of mine found the best incentive to stop was being told by a doctor he would probably be dead in a few months, so he stopped overnight through willpower, and never touched one again.
I'd love to know how smokers with young children can live with themselves if they add up how much money they spend in a year, then think what they could buy for the children instead, or save it for future needs like university, house purchase etc.

Surely your children should be the biggest pleasure in your life, and the thought of depriving them of something so you can poison yourself must take a lot of courage to wake up and do it every day.
Gosh people judge so readily. My children are the everything to me but I still smoked, its a drug, I was addicted. When my third child was a toddler I went to an Allen Carr workshop. It was a day long and if I ever smoked again I could could come back for free. It was £80 on a groupon deal and should have been much more. It was a lot of money but not in the grand scheme of things when you're a smoker. We had 'cig breaks' throughout and at the end I ran out of the hotel jumping I was so excited. I've never smoked a single one since and that was about 8 years ago. Worth a go surely for £1.99
Is this the little geezer on the tele that's a comedian wears glasses, funny teeth?
I went from 40 Regal a day to zero after reading this. If you want to give up, I can thoroughly recommend it.

It's almost as if it never gets old.

Almost.

A joke that never gets old, a bit like a lot of smokers.
I stopped using the book back in 2002, two years ago I started up again after my marriage fell apart, This summer I finally stopped again using this Audio book (at full price), It's superb
Have tried various things in the past from patches to vaping. Really want this to work. Thanks OP
I was a 20 to 25 cig a day smoker and just stopped smoking 2 month ago now... for those who want to stop smoking the go to your doctors and ask to be on "champix", its tablets that you have twice a day along side your cigarette... first it feels like its not working but after 2nd or 3rd week you smoke less of a full cig and soon you stop smoking altogether. Best thing about this progress is that you slowly hate the taste and feel of smoking and you stop and that better for me because when i smell cig now i hate it
Be careful. I took up smoking after reading this
Worked for me, around 15 years ago.
I don't smoke, but I've heard such good things about this book from people who did, I'm half tempted to buy it anyway!!

Just a slight warning with Champix - I suffered some mild psych issues whilst on it, but fair play - it worked!
The book worked for me too. I haven’t smoked a cigarette for years. The book explains your addiction in a simple way and that keeps getting reinforced. It really worked for me. However his other book on losing weight was a pile of total rubbish.
Can't you just give up because you stink? Can't walk down a high street without addicts blowing smoke and they still smell after they've littered the ground with fag ends and go into the shops!
His name sounds the same as the guy on the TV ! Wow really funny !! Look at me I did a joke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus H Christ.

All the success stories are great and this audiobook (or the paperback) are well worth investing in. I quit after reading the book like others here. If you want the paperback you can find copies for around £3.

General malaise. Bit zombified sometimes and not my usual upbeat self. Less empathetic to everyone. Didn't really realise until I came off them.
