If you're paying that money go for the Fitzwilliam!

amour3k

Or a broom cupboard?, loooool. As how both Andy Peter's, and Phillip Scofield used to refer to such as - from back in the Day? (Children TV Day's ... ) :-)

amour3k

That's an interesting point you've indirectly raised there actually ... It's always automatically assumed that the 'Easy' brand would naturally prove cheaper?. (Easy Rent A Car, Easy Everything, Easy this, Easy that ... ) But the reality is, IF you you hit them at the wrong time, then that particular 'Easy option' could effectively prove wayyyyyy more expensive over the odds than that of their nearest/closest competing rival is at that specific moment in time, etc?).. Which indirectly support's that of my initial first comment here also ... In that with such things, there's always generally that cheaper/alternative 'option' before us?. (Time factor, money in your pocket, and all the rest of otherwise other undisclosed dictating factor's before you, or whatever ... ) You didn't have to pay for that one, which is probably just as well, but had you have, your story could possibly just have proved itself a little different?, lol.

amour3k

Hahahahahahahaha, CRUDE!. But yes, that's definitely another 'avenue of option" for such places like these too I guess?, loooool. Knock yourself out I suppose? (and yes, pun intended, hehehe). :-D

Babbler

Do you have to pay extra for the bed? :D

Having recently stayed in easy hotel I now understand why it was so cheap lol

emribena

The refund would be done though easyJet hotels so if you are worried I’ve found the best way to contact them quickly is through Facebook message - they have been really helpful whenever I’ve contacted them. Sure if they were going to cancel they would get in touch with you

Ziggy2013

So basically I have booked with no idea if there will be a hotel and no way to contact them for a refund...nice

emribena

I dare not even ask how you know all that but good answer! :)

bitcoin5

It was! The site was sold 3 times, to 3 different developers over the years and 2 went skint, before the flats you can see in the rear of the shot were refurbished, then in 2015 the Easygroup holding company purchased swathes of land all over, this was one of them! The current plot is open and the hotel now looks like this and is opening Q3 2018 (highfive)

rancid hotels, everything is extra, they don't even change your bins, towels are extra if you're staying for a few days.. wifi extra, tv extra.. rooms are more cramped than the planes and no space to do anything/ hang anything.. but for a bed n bog for 1 night suppose its worth a tenner..

devonpie

Agreed. Can’t get anywhere

Their website is atrocious

Just checked Liverpool, 20th to 22nd Feb 2018 £9.99prpn (no window) £14.99prpn (with window) Don't forget this is a real budget hotel and you pay for extras on top I believe. Still a cracking price if all you want to do is have a shower and put your head down for a few hours.

She booked online and was told about the tv charge etc. on arrival. No room for any belongings and no window was not mentioned.

OwlEye

She'd have been clearly told all that at the point of booking.

louie-blue

My daughter stayed in an easy hotel, said it was horrible. Barely any room to move or put a bag, no window at all. £6 to put the tv on. Not an experience she'll repeat.

Avoid. Pay a bit more and get somewhere with a proper bathroom and a wardrobe, both these things are missing from Easyhotel rooms.

Cold. Stayed at the Old Street one and it was the worst night of my life. No flat surfaces to place anything, basically no floor space. Just a tiny pod bathroom and a bed. Oh and the police were called at 2am to throw someone out. And it still cost £70 a night. Pathetic.

milady

I didn't even spend any time sleeping there. At the Earl's Court one, there was a massive air conditioning grid outside my room which made a very loud buzzing noise, I didn't sleep at all. They gave me other rooms to try but they all had this noise. My trip was a total write-off because of this, I was absoultely exhausted the next day. If you look through the reviews giving a low rating on Trip Advisor you will see other people reporting the same thing. I can't recommend this to anyone.

dealornodeal977

If you have stayed in an easy hotel, this is still too much. Fine if you don't plan to spend anytime there other than sleeping. Given the price/quality of accommodation in the UK still a good price for a roof over your head so hot from me. Don't forget your filp flops ;)

They have one in Croydon in London check the reviews and pictures so you know what you a getting. Room has a bed. No other furniture. No locker, chair. table. wardrobe or shelf for your phone. one socket so bring an adapter if you need charge another phone. It's just a bed. Which might be all you need. There is no restaurant or snack machine so get your snacks in advance. You cannot phone reception. Has a bit of a seedy feel to it but at the price I guess you wilt get those too.

Innis and gunn beer kitchens are a rip off.Weatherspoons sell their lager for £3.20.

We stayed in a Travelodge in January last year on Princes' Street - 3 nights without breakfast came to about £80 with a discount voucher. Edinburgh is lovely but beware it's very cold and we had snow. If you get a chance go up Arthur's Seat and the Castle both are lovely.

knack

So would I. Just pointing out that hostels are available at similar prices/cheaper.

Easyhotels are the closest thing you can get to an japanese pod hotel really... http://www.turnipseedtravel.com/blog/frugal-or-foolhardy-why-i-stayed-in-londons-cheapest-hotel And honestly, it does serve a purpose on the market, since for little more (depending the location) than a hostel you can sleep in a private (albeit tiny) room with your own toilet.

oj0

Sadly not a joke. I understand for some this will be better than their existing options, but for many who could afford to spend a little more then my recommendation would be to do so. The £3 fee for a remote control (without it you can't even turn the tv on to use the buttons on the set) is just an example of the cost of extras you'd expect as standard elsewhere. Of course you're under no obligation to spend any extra, but I'm just pointing out that many things people might expect to be included in the price are not so.

Asam22

Homestay cheaper than airbnb , the cleaning fees and admin fees on top rip you off

sm-1991

I would check out airbnb as well if you just want a cheap place to stay.

patrick_000

You have to pay extra for a tv remote, how petty. Given it's winter, I suspect it's worth checking travelodge, premier inn and so on as they'll probably have specials too.

Oh, also matchbox style rooms, no desks, just 2 coat hangers, no wardrobe, bathroom is like a little box. My GF hated it in Paddington

Stayed in the Victoria one before. Great if you literally just need a bed for the night but you wouldn't want to spend any time really in the room. The double bed had walls on two sides and about a yard on the other two. "Bathroom" is more like a shower cubicle with a toilet and sink fitted inside. I would use it again though as we dropped our bags off, went out, rolled in, slept and then checked out.

peppermintt

If you insist on booking with them, do not book the one at old street/barbican. Stayed there a few months ago - it could not meet our basic NEED of AIR - windowless room without a working air conditioner - we nearly suffocated in our sleep http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186338-d3317097-Reviews-EasyHotel_Old_St_Barbican-London_England.html#REVIEWS
