This looks like the same deal as before, but it actually seems to be a NEW deal.

That means that if you got one last time you'll be able to get another I think!! QuidCo cashback applicable too!!

Yeah the other deal had passed its expiry date, so it must be new Nice one ducky!

Is this really as good as it looks?

I mean, if I buy this for two pounds, will I get the £25 credit with no catches? I want to give one to a friend as a gift but don't want any bad comeback. Thanks as always, Dio

PLUS! - Apply for one SIM, when you get it apply for another one using the first number as a friend recommendation and you BOTH get another £5 credit! This definitely works because I did it this week.

The only snag is that they charge you 75p per month if you don't spend £5 credit within a 3 month block. I think to get out of that you have to pay £5 to cancel your account, but they do actually give you any credit you've paid for back after that £5 you pay them.

Is this really as good as it looks?

Yes it really is. I paid £2 and got a SIM with £27 on it for my son. Plugged into his unlocked phone and off he went.
Ordered another SIM for my wife, used my son's number as a friend recommender and they both get £5 added too.
So I have paid £4 and now got two SIM cards with £32 credit each on them

i'm a little confused about the quidco thing... never used quidco, signed up but don't know how it works really. for e.g. in this offer, does it mean i spend 2 quid, get 27 quid airtime credit, and quidco will pay me back 8 quid to my paypal account, so i EARN 6 quid by purchasing this sim?

chamelion, thats exactly it!

and at the mo, because so many have gone through quidco this month, we are gonna earn at least £19 instead of £8! max of £20!

from quidco "with the amount Quidco members have already bought this month we are able to say already you should get at least £19! So that’s £19 cashback for buying a £2 sim with £25 airtime. Decisions don’t come any easier than that"

seems to good to be true. i purchased via quidco, but don't see the credit- i'm assuming it'll credit after a few weeks? shouldn't it at least say "pending" or something?

Original Poster

I forgot it was £19 this month!! I've put that in the first post.

Also, you can text other easymobile SIM cards for 1p per text!! So it's worth getting the whole family on them and never communicating via sound again.

I am interested to know more about this... I have two sim cards which I cant find and every now and then i get a email saying they are taking 75p charge from the sim cards, i don't even know the amount on my sim cards, if they get down to 00.00 will they then start taking they charge from my debit card?? Both sim cards are in my hubby's name ( he don't know) and there is no way he would ring someone to cancel the cards, as he is very phone shy.

any help is appreciated

From the T&Cs:

8.1 You may ask us to cancel the Agreement at any time from your Account on our Website. To do this you need to be logged in on your own account with your password.

crazy3,
What you need to do is contact easyMobile and cancel both cards. Tell them that you do not want any credit refunded, otherwise they will charge £5 for the refund. Of course, if you have more than £5 in credit, you might want the refund, but it's probably not worth the hassle. Then go to quidco and order 1 for each member of your family, and look after them this time ;-)

ok, i ordered one last week using quidco. I have just registered it ok. Can i now go through quidco again and order another one for my gf and get the cashback or is it only one sim per customer? also if i put my first sim card in as a friend recommendation will i get a further £5 credit? hope that made sense

I've had mine charged 75p every month because the balance on the SIM is less than £5

I didn't set up payment for monthly top-up's, so they shouldn't take any money from my bank account.

As someone else has johnsend and tyke said, it's best to contact them and cancel.

If they take money from you for having less than £5 on a SIM and not topping up, I would think something was pretty much illegal, although I'm no expert. It wouldn't be good publicity for them either, so I doubt it would happen.

I ordered a sim using quidco too on the 13th July but my amount is showing £0 and my earning is also showing £0. Has it tracked properly for anybody else? or will this change later due to the tiered scheme?

Its a great deal anyway? cheers ]duckmagicuk2. I have tried to apply for another, see what happens.

Can someone explain to me quickly how and when they deduct 75p?

Is it every month no matter what or is it if you don't top up or drop below a certain limit?

Cheers.

I only realised you need to go to easymobile website and register your sim then hopefully the money will appear.

I'm leaving mine until it reaches zero, so I can see what they do, as I don't think it's fair practice and wouldn't want to promote their services if they attempt to charge me for having not used the SIM card.

If you have one of their SIMs with less than £5 [might be from any amount now?] on it and don't use it for three months, they start to deduct 75p each month from your remaining credit.

Just thought I'd bring this to your attention:

Overdraft Facility (see below) This innovative service allows your easyMobile account to go into a small negative balance. We offer this service as a ‘back up’ so that you will never get caught short with no airtime credit just when you might need it the most.

This service is free to use for up to £10 of calls, or 3 days with a negative balance of less than £10. If your account exceeds either of these limits, we will apply a charge of £5 to your account and prevent you making outbound calls/texts.

Therefore we recommend that you top up your airtime balance as soon as possible to avoid incurring a charge or loss of service.

If you wish to opt out of this service, please contact our Customer Service team to discuss this further.

Anyone know; can u get free customer service via e-mail or do you have to call them at 15p per minute?

I've never seen that before. My SIM is from way back when they first started. I haven't given them permission to let me have an overdraft, as it probably wasn't in their terms and conditions at the time. The monthly to-up option was, but I never registered for it. I can still use the SIM even though it has less than £5 on it.

I guess anyone who has joined recently, telephone or e-mail them to cancel the overdraft facility if you don't want it.

I'll wait and see how mine goes still...

Taken from Quidco:
"Please read the following before proceeding:
***This appears as £0.00 initially and it can take up to 6 weeks for the £8 amount to show as validated in your account. You must register and place credit on your SIM***"

As you can see guys the tracked amount can remain at £0 for up to six weeks.

I signed up last week on the previous offer, received sim, have activated & used but still shows at £0.00 - Not worried though re the above

Hi

would anyone like to recommend me to join easymobile, we both get 5 pounds credit. Please send me a personal message if you like. Thanks a lot.

My sim from last year sometime just started going into the overdraft last week (I've not used it for many many months so it's just the 75ps that caused it).

I've asked them to close the account, so I'll let you guys know what happens once the 30 days is up.

Just reading this with intrest. Surely they can only take this 75p charge from your balance? It's a PAYG sim card, you haven't signed anything which entitles them to take any further money from your bank account or the card in which you topped up with.

I would imagine, and I'm only guessing here, if you leave it stagnant, they keep taking 75p from your balance until they write the sim card off?

I agree grdesign, it's a PAYG and if you don't use YOUR money on the topped up card, should they have any right to even take the 75p? What are they losing by people not using up credit on a stagnant SIM? As for taking even more for going into an overdraft on PAYG, that defeats the whole PAYG concept...

As I posted, they took the 75p charge forcing my account balance negative.

I've closed the account, but have no idea if they're going to ask for the overdrawn amount or not.

Damn you Chamelion!!!!!

Hi guys, just got some info from Easy, i'll try and confirm a couple of things,

1) Easy will never take any money from the debit / credit cards (unless you have signed up for the auto top up)

2) They will take 0.75 until the account is -10.00 and then you must pay 10.00 + credit to get the account re-opened.

Best thing to do, wait until the account has 5.00 left then contact them to cancel the account. This means that it won't cost you any additional cost.;-)

you could jsut put the sim in a draw and forget about it but you'll always have the nagging feeling that you owe someone money and they'll keep sending letters chasing the money!!

bazr

Damn you Chamelion!!!!!

i don't know why anyone else didn't think of the referral thing-- we could really all work together in peace and harmony and make some money off of it

hopefully people who haven't signed up yet will ask for referral from this forum, this thread, before signing up. make us all some more money, after all thats what this forum is partially about!

Sorry but HotUKDeals doesn't want to promote referral schemes in any way. So far over the past two years almost, the forums have been virtually spam free. Referrals produce spam and would therefore be removed.

Thank you for all the personal messages. I will choose the first mobile number I got today. If someone new wants to register afterwards. I think it is a good way. It's benefit for both of them.
