Some report it's slow even with 4gb ram
Edited by: "TAZMANUK" 15th Dec 2017
I was just looking at this on ebay, seems good but some do say it is slow. There are lots of good priced refurbished laptops from big stores like Argos, on ebay. Im looking for one for my daughter around this price for her to play Sims4 on, im sick of her nicking mine!!
Personally for the same budget Lenovo X230 is better value, however comes with a smaller screen 12.5.
Intel i5, 8gb ram, hdd 500gb/320gb.
Ordered one recently off ebay, free delivery next day delivery too. Also had Webcam and light up keyboard and ofcourse the compulsory finger print scanner

Who from have you a link please, trying to get my daughter a laptop for Xmas
These E1 based machines are very very slow. Out of the box experience is appalling. Then try and put some kind of third party security product on it. Think netbook...
Look at cpubenchmark, beware of choosing a device with a score below 2,000. These things are about a 1,000. That’s about the same speed as a ten year old processor, that was a budget range even then.

Also comes with a dock and extra power cable.
They are ex-business laptops so will have a few marks/scratches but for the money can't do better. Certainly better than above

I have one, avoid at all costs as it's so slow...... You wouldn't believe!
Certainly cheap, passmark of 1000 would be slow though!
The E1 is a rubbish CPU! It's definitely not worth it. There are much better 2nd hand laptops out there for around the same price.
This struggles to run Minesweeper and Solitaire. Brrrr cold

They are old laptops with new components I guess. Apart from its looks it's quite good for the money 💰

This is the worst sort of laptop you could possibly buy for a student, especially for a girl. Huge, bulky, very heavy, terrible screen, brick like design, horrible resolution. Would be a nightmare carrying this back and forth around campus.

Get a thin/light 13" machine with SSD and IPS screen eg. EZbook3 Pro, Chuwi Lapbook Air etc.

I took advice and ended up buying her a Lenova 230x. Fingers crossed I made the right choice!

I would have gone for that Acer Swift 3 myself. With that X230, a TN panel screen and no warranty on the battery that could have up to 5 years usage/wear on it would be a dealer breaker for me.

But each to their own.....

I've had the lenovo x230 for around two years now. Refurb off of eBay and it's a beast for what you pay! I'm into photography and it handles photo editing with a breeze also music processing too, the only thing I can say that's a negative is you might end up with a battery that's seen its day, and the graphics ain't the best, but you ain't paying gaming laptop money here. Other than that though try throwing stuff at it you'll be surprised how robust and sturdy it is.. Yes it don't look like a Mac air but for what you pay its a great ex business laptop that I wouldn't part with at any cost. 12 months warranty too. For the money your paying, you'll be struggling to get a refurb laptop with its specs and ability and stand alone performance. Couldn't recommend it enough!

The Acer swift 3 is a nice laptop, but it isn't refurbished, It's a second hand laptop that you can't say is 100% fully working, The seller of those x230 is a laptop and computer refurbishment company Which Test Everything On The Machine, and Mine Arrived Without A Mark On It What So Ever and they do offer 12 months warranty.

There are loads of refurbished Swift 3s about from established companies - just hunt one down.

Not for the x230 price range though, not that I've seen anyway, swift 3 is nice though!
