It is taken off at checkout.

Cheers, heat from me.

Thanks OP, bought Acer Aspire E1 for £233

There are a couple of Chromebooks that look good... Is it better to go for the larger and cheaper HP (£150, Intel Celeron 847, 14" and 4GB) or the smaller and more expensive Samsung (£180, Exynos 5250, 11" and 2GB)?

I got a refurbished Lenovo last time they did 10% off for £242 it was brand new so well happy

solid

I've had the Samsung for well over a year now and it's brilliant. So long as you understand the limitations of Chromebooks you won't be disappointed.

Thanks op

Samsung Ativ Book 4 is a steal for £243!!

Ordered a laptop previously from Currys refurbished, it was an advent one and the screen broke after 6 months, got it replaced but it was a nightmare as it kept doing it. Can anyone give me a bit of guidance as to whether argos refurbs are of decent quality?

Many thanks!

I have ordered quite a few and all came like new. I have only ever had a problem once where a laptop was sent with a dead pixel included for free . Argos were very quick to resolve the problem and I returned the item for a full refund via their free Collect+ returns.

refubs from argos are a hit and miss, so cold for me, sorry.

Excellent thanks op, I had been umming and erring over the 14 Hp Chromebook for a while and this sealed it. £135 delivered. Lovely.

This one seems to be a good price...SONY-DSX-A30...but I am confused with that and SONY-CDX-GT270MP..any suggestions please...?

Can the chromebook be used to play movies offline? say from a usb drive? or does it require an app and wfi

Can anyone tell me what does the 12 mth guarantee cover? And is the Samsung Galaxy tab 8 gb worth it for £90 (with discount)?

Its the 7 inch 8gb.

I would appreciate your thoughts in why you think the HP chromebook is better than the Samsung. I have used the Samsung, and it does slow down with about 10 tabs open. Does the HP suffer in the same way with ten tabs and a few running videos at the same time? I'm trying to get a handle on which chip is better.

Thanks

Thanks Just ordered a Panasonic TX-L42E6B 42" TV for £359.99

Thanks, OP, a chromebook for the kids at only £135 a pop is too good to ignore. Hopefully they are like new, but thankfully there is a 14 day return period .

Tempted to pick up a laptop for some light-ish gaming when I am back home, but I have no idea when it comes to laptops of what to look for. Bit lost!

I don't have a clue what to look for anymore. Been using a Samsung N130 for years, keep thinking I should get something a bit more upto date, don't want anything massive, 11-14" absolute max but are the ones in this deal any better than what I have? very lost lol.

me too... bought an msi cx700 and the hinges broke 14 months in... would've cost half original price to replace hinges... haven't bothered with them since...

I bought a hp beats mini 210 refurb and the shift keys didn't work, returned it, then new ones went down on the sale to a similar price as refurb so just bought new, service on the refurb wad OK tho, no issues getting a refund at all

that's msi for you, not the retailer's fault

Tempted by the Sony KDL42W653 at £404.99.

in desperate need of a laptop and I'm pretty sure i'm going to order one using this discount. however, I have no clue what constitutes as a good laptop, opinions on which would be the best choice under £350?

Me too

Looking at getting a laptop under £300 and considering this:

ebay.co.uk/itm…038

Is this a good deal/spec or are there better ones?

Thanks!

Hmmm tempted by the Sony KDL42W653 @ £400ish, and the Panasonic TX-L42E6B @ £360ish.

Both are around £500 new with 5 years warranty at John Lewis. Very close to biting the bullet and buying from there but then this pops up to complicate things!! Heard bad things about Argos refurbs, anyone got any more experience of them?

Good find though, heat!

Well £85 is a big saving, and I'm inclined to think that the fact these these have been tested during the refurb process means that they're less likely to be defective out of the box.

The only things holding me back are the limited warranty and the fact that John Lewis and Richer Sounds have such sterling reputations when it comes to customer service, which is important.

So, saving or service. Hhmm.
