I like the way ebay pretend to give sellers great deals when all the time they are Beta Testing their free postage and package conditions on media items next year

Sorry, I have to vote cold here. Unless the item is of high value, light weight then the seller is still getting a raw deal. :x Fleabay....fleecing the innovators of survival.

I wonder if this can be used at the same time as the 5p listing offer. That would be quite a saving for once.

I couldn't give away half of my books/cd's/dvds let alone sell them

I can see this actually costing more in the end by having to absorb the P&P cost

Madmatt, I like those glass fruits in your avvy, where can I buy them?

Free postage must be a way of trying to stop people selling stuff for .99p and charging £20 postage... More money for Ebay.

I agree. Especially on low value items, the postage can be as much as the item and now you'd be paying the final value fee on the postage too, so 25% off might not cover it.

You will lose out if u take this offer as ebay take between 5% to 10% of the commision on the higher sale price, ebay have already forced ireland customers to offer free postage on dvd and media and fixed postage prices on other products, guess its coming to the uk soon?

I have no idea where you can get them but they do look quite good :-D

I'm sure if you google "glass apples" or something you'll find them somewhere...

Edit: Here's a bigger picture of it if you like them so much :P

COLD...try working out how much you would have to sell an item for in order to absord the p&p cost
eg p&p = £2.
saving on final fee must be £2. (which equals the 25% saving ebay is quoting)
therefore final value fee = £8!
assuming ebay charges 8% on an item for final value fee gives you a sale price of £100!!!
at 5% final value fee, sale price = £160
at 10% final value fee, sale price = £80

BEWARE OF EBAY!

ebay is absolute **** now! since they changed the feedback rules to stop sellers leaving neutral or negative feedback I have had 3 non payers in 3 weeks of returning to selling on ebay.
So basically buyers who pay no fee's to ebay get all the protection & sellers who pay ebays wages with the ridiculous fee's get no protection against timewasting non payers at all from my experience.

Going to try ebid instead, anyone got any experience with ebid?

Spot on analysis I think. If ebay ends up making it unprofitable to sell normal value DVDs/Vidoes etc with only the more valueable items in these classifcaitions viable to be sold via ebay then it may leave the door open for its competitors.:whistling:

And more....

No company in UK send DVDs by recorded delivery. Since paypal don't suppert ordinary posting with proof of posting sellers need to send most of the items by recorded delivery. Also 5-7 days is the average shipping time by most companies. But most Ebay sellers send items next day. So it is impossible to send DVDs free.
Ebay is going away from the people.

Worst offer - Extreme cold --- Please don't try this....they are doing beta testing....Ignore it...It is going to cost more for sellers...More insertion fee and why Ebay doing this to sellers.
