Much prefer a remote to constant speech for simple tasks I could do much quicker with a Bluetooth remote.

Setting cooking reminders and changing music when my hands are covered in flour, raw meat and so on is probably my favourite use for my Echo.

Thank you ordered, heat added. I have found the Tapo camera products to be great, interested to see how the plug performs against hive/kasa in the house.
Heat added , thanks . Can these plugs be set as 24 hour timers within there app ? Needing a couple of timers for various lamps round the house but don’t fancy big clunky designs of timers . So was thinking these type of plugs look better and would be perfect if timer was possible .
Hot but didn’t buy because I couldn’t think of any use for the plug.
Good spot @ms84
Excellent price @ms84
Yesterday it was with hs100 plug which is much better.

About the price I'd expect this kind of bundle to be, to be honest.

yea Mine be like that or the other echo in other room picks it up, deffo need some microphone cabrtion settings or the alarms goes off on timer so you gotta shout louder than the alarm cause the microphone and speaker right near each other
Switches are better than remote
The Tapo plug is acceptable for most but it won't be much use for home automation enthusiasts because it can't be used in open source solutions

Fair enough, I'd just wash my hands for those purposes but each to their own, everybody is different

Whilst at my friends home, I found it irritating that he was constantly saying "Alexa volume up/ down" or asking for music that it struggled to find....I find it much easier to use remotes/ switches/ buttons etc to choose and select what I want.....much like the Parrot hands free in my car, the voice activation is useless lol

......you have more than 1!? Lol. I don't have a use for any as I have the tech I need to cover music/ clocks/ alarms/ shopping lists etc but I guess they must really be of necessity in your home.

Works fine for me, except when I have the fan on next to it, have to raise your voice a little bit
Mine work fine. Quite sensitive. Have a Tapo smart plugs and a 7.15 to turn on lights, absolute Classic rock and kettle
Just ordered.. thanks dude

Don't see a purpose? Remote? Your joking, or your old!
Nice to have it , i bought one or 29.90 without plug, but its worth every penny
How safe are these smart plugs? Will it take an extension, powering around 2000w of electricals (PC, heater, monitors etc)

Heat added. Great deal
Guys, how good is the one with time display? I want to buy one, but not getting good deals on the same. I am quite tempted to buy this one rather. I need this for my lounge to control LightwaveRF dimmers

Just had a look and its exactly the same as the 3rd Gen Echo dot, aka the one here, it just has a LED Light.
Found this article androidcentral.com/ech…ock

I like the 3rd gen dot so id say the one with the clock will be good to lol

You're wrong on both counts, pal. This is my opinion, I'm just not lazy and quite capable of using my hands and feet and have zero use for these "assistants".....don't need gadgets or novelty items so I can say "switch on lights" or "volume up" etc. I find speaking constantly to a piece of tech a lot more annoying and a pain in the rear, than a simple remote or a switch....by the time I've said "Alexa volume up" and it's acknowledged, I could have just turned it up already, past experience has proven this as I stated in a previous post about a friend that HAD one.....doesn't anymore lol.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.....in my case, if it's pointless I don't purchase.....bit like a fridge cam lol.

Not that lazy then why use a remote? Switch that crap off from the source then buddy!

Do you still wash your clothes in the river and smash them off rocks? Washing machines are for the lazy.

If we followed the "if it ain't broke don't fix it crap" we'd be livining in 1874.

Alexa switches on the TV much faster than I can find the bloody remote, and can also complete multiple tasks with just one command so don't give me any of that tech is useless crap sunny.

There can be faults and it's not always perfect but time to get off your high horse boomer.
It doesn’t acknowledge volume up/down, it just does it.
