Better deal at currys with two bulbs google mini and dimmer switch imo but …Better deal at currys with two bulbs google mini and dimmer switch imo but alright if you want three bulbs so voted hot

I can't see a deal including the dimmer switch...
Posted this in another thread about some of the things you can do with the bulbs and the IFTTT app. Hopefully explains to people slightly new to these a bit more information about them.

You can set it up so the lights flash blue if it's going to rain in your area. It can flash if you're tagged on Facebook on anything. Can set it so your lights come on at sunset and switch off at 12am etc. Turn off your lights when you leave home. Make it so your lights will start flashing if you have a Nest smoke alarm or the like. Flash your lights when your Alexa or Google home timer hits 0.

You can also download other Hue apps that have dynamic scenes like the flickering of a candle, flash like it's a thunderstorm, fireworks going off, and more importantly disco time.

That's just a few examples up above but you can take a look through the app even without the lights to see what they can do.

What a silly idea
What's the difference between hue 9 and 9.5 bulbs?

semi serious question, I already have a few sets for upcomming project, but do they have any sort of 'dumb' functionality? so standard lightbulb on and off mode as such?

I haven't got them yet but I believe you can just use them as normal bulbs using the light switch

Yeah, they work like normal lightbulbs too, who would have thought.

You can also set the colour on them now in an update a few months ago, were when they were powered on and off they used to reset the colour to normal bright white. But not anymore thankfully.

Any deals without the echo dot around? I've got a bit of a tin foil on my head you see.

Just download the IFTTT app or go on the website, and search for Philips hue and you can get a better understanding of all the things they can do pretty much.

Cheers going to have a look now.
I find Google's response and understanding so much better then Alexa.
Heat added! Great deal, I was looking at getting the starter kit, getting an echo included is a bonus

This is more what I meant... I understood they reset to 'standard on power off/cycle, but an update has fixed this ? so they remember state??

Best thing I've ever bought! I have 3 bulbs and that hue play light. Love them all. The only things I would like;

Auto switch on via WiFi is really slow when returning home, unless it's just me. I could switch them on manually a lot quicker.

Hue Sync app on the TV so I dont have to steam link Netflix from my PC to use movie sync. Other than that I've used my light bulbs sooo much.
