I don't think this has been posted yet but just noticed that a new bundle has become available for the Echo Dot which gives £10 off the Philips Hue starter kit. Also available for the larger Echo.

It's funny how self induced compulsions can be mitigated by a brief period of time.

I've seen a few starter kit deals but they always seem to be for the screw bulbs rather than bayonet. Bayonets seem more expensive Anyone know why?

The bayonets were the same price on the black Friday deals. No idea why they're more expensive usually. I have been buying the screw bulbs and converters though.
Great value pack to get started in the world of smart Home and smart assistant. Have some heat

You can buy converter kits - bayonet to screw, e27 to e14 etc.

We are surely way behind the times in the UK with the reliance on archaic bayonet fittings on our light fittings? I've replaced all my ceiling connections to ones using screw fittings and it's bliss putting the bulbs in them compared to before.

Yeah but they add height to the socket which is a bit of a pain. I might have to buy bigger lampshades
