  • Echo Plus has a built-in Zigbee hub to easily set up and control your compatible smart home devices, and an improved sound for streaming music.
  • Premium speakers powered by Dolby play 360° audio with crisp vocals and dynamic bass response. You can also adjust equaliser settings within the Alexa app.
  • Just ask Alexa to play music, read the news, check weather forecasts, set alarms and timers, control compatible smart home devices, call anyone with an Echo device, the Alexa App or Skype, and more.

Instantly drop in on other rooms in your home or make an announcement to every room with a compatible Echo device.
  • Designed to protect your privacy. Built with multiple layers of privacy protection and control, including a Microphone Off button that electronically disconnects the microphones.

Slightly random Q, but how do people handle multiple echo's and avoiding more than one responding ? I've got a few spaced out in the house and half considering this for the dining room, but it's probably close enough to the kitchen that the one in there might respond if we talk loudly (although far enough away we can't reliably use it in polite company )
I think if they're linked to the same account they are smart enough to know how close you are and which one you're speaking to.
You can also knock off £5 with the code GIFT05. They are selling the echo plus without the bulb for the same price so this is a bargain! Time for me to upgrade my plain vanilla echo speaker and play with getting the Zigbee hub integrated with Home Assistant.
EDIT - looks like the built-in Zigbee hub isn't compatible with zigbee2mqtt :-(

If they are too close for comfort you could change the wake word for one of them. Eg Alexa for the living room and Echo for the room next to it. I have a few but its rare they go off unexpectedly.
The plus has really good sound especially for this price

Had this for xmas a fantastic price
cracking deal. they must be preparing a gen 3 by now... don't think the amazon hardware event is till september though.
No idea why this isn't hotter, it's a cracking deal.
That's a great deal. I noticed the echo plus on deal of the day for this price & had ordered before seeing your deal. Cancelled and now ordered with a Hue bulb included at the same price. Thanks Brutes!

Sensitivity between devices varies a lot. I have an echo show 8 in the kitchen which I can stand in front of but the echo dot in the living room responds to my question! I love echos but this is an annoyance.
Yeah the wrong one definitely responds every now and again. Got 3 in quite a big but largely open plan space. End up having to walk over and talk directly into the one that has done something in error.

Also this should be much hotter. I hadn’t realised this was the plus! I thought it was an average deal for the echo 3rd gen with Philips bulb. Heat now added.

I've done this for a slightly different reason; I already have a V2 Echo in the lounge but also have a Dot permanently connected to my AV receiver (also in the lounge) via a jack to phono cable as I wanted to be able to stream music through my surround speakers - I've changed it's wake word to 'Echo' and my other devices all respond to 'Alexa'. Works a treat!

It didn't work for me either, but I've used the "GIFT05" code once before - last week when it was first made available.

So I justed logged into my wife's a Amazon account, applied the code at checkout (as I know she's not used that code before) and it worked; both the Echo Plus + a Hue Bulb for £64.99. Result.

Selected no rush delivery so will get 2x £1 credit (one for each item) off future purchases too. 99% of the time it still comes the next day regardless of no rush selected.

Agree. Its a great deal just for the plus - can't believe they are throwing in a £15 hue bulb! Should be red hot.
Does the hub on this work as well as the hue bridge?
Got this for free from vodofone, it was fun first 3 days, then- there is just no need for it, music wise everyone wearing headphones, question wise- easier/faster/ more in depth to google in the phone, smart home wise- it easier and faster to lift bum and flick the switch...so only use for us is as wireless speaker when in mood. Sound is very good for this kind of device....
Has anyone managed to get this working with the Tradfri kit?
Unethical tip for anyone that bought this deal, I wanted to return it as I want the hue hub instead of this and started the return with the included bulb (they were in my ordered as separate items) and I got a refund of £11.52 and don't have to return the bulb
