The price of Alexa Show at Amazon.co.uk is lowered from £199.99 to a more reasonable £139.99 again (was this price a month ago, so probably will be again in the future).

Amazon hardware is half price on Amazon France - bum deal

I’d need to be French to get that deal. Quite happy to pay extra for that not to be the case

Alexa Show is not available on amazon.fr, so difficult to compare the price...
Still not worth it - the bigger speakers are good but the screen has been wasted - you can't really use it for anything useful.

Agree, cannot justify buying it myself..
For people how think they need Alexa Show, this is still better than the ridiculous ~£200 pricetag

I don’t know. Since the new third party skill was released to allow IP camera access, I can now view all of my IP camera feeds like any of the officials supported cameras.

That said I only paid £58 for mine and really not sure I’d pay much more

£58?! Was it some sort of lightning deal? Or were you lucky to grab a deal on ebay?
Wait til next month. Amazon always reduce this stuff on Prime Day. Should be 9-10th July.
This looks like an interesting feature (makes Alexa Show a bit more useful for me): digitbin.com/you…ow/
I hope one day there is a more permanent hack to access web browser...

No. Bought the deal on Argos for two last year and sold one straight one
Mine started doing to flickering screen thing a couple of weeks ago and i've tried everything to fix it, so its going back to Argos this weekend. Tried updating (already fully up to date), tried switching off, tried factory reset, tried leaving it turned off for a day and nothing. Screen flickering comes back 10 minutes after being switched on. After googling it, it seems its quite common.
Yes, I did the same but eventually sold the last one I had & got a Sonos One (which does not have a screen but vastly better audio!). This device is crying out for a hack that would let it be used with third party cameras - I have an old Pipo X8 tablet running Android 4.4 which has Onvifer widgets showing 2 IP camera feeds and other widgets with Gmail, Spotify & Nest on display. That's the kind of thing they should have done.

It’s a skill called Monocle. Had a quick google. It will tell you everything you need to know.

Any camera than can put out an RTSP feed can now be viewed on a Show

I’ve done a few write ups on Plex and Pop buttons. Might do Simon for Monocle as clearly not everyone is aware of it yet

Do you have any more info on this? My hope is that eventually LineageOS will become available for this once someone figures how to unlock the bootloader. That would be vastly more useful than the current OS.

I’ll get some stuff done.

Reminds me of the O2 Joggler. The hack for that made it a great device for its time andnin truth things haven’t moved on that much really. And that was 7-8 years ago

Do you still use them for anything.

They had such potential back in the day.

I have a couple that run Android 4.0 from a USB drive, they are quite handy for Spotify, Squeezeplay, Amazon Music etc. The main drawback is the lack of a video driver so I use them just for audio stuff.

Mine had the same issue. I got in touch with Amazon support and they swapped it out without any issues.
