This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Half normal price, Multi fuctional device, Smart Assistant, Photo Frame, Video Viewer... Can even be used as a full media Alark Clock
(Although I think the Show 5 for £49.99 is better suited for that)

I know Argos are doing it too for the same Price, however, in my opinion and experience, Amazon Customer Services and afftercare support is absolutely amazing should you need it.

Please note they have no stock until 14th January
Also out of stock for delivery at Argos, in the white finish. No stock in store either, anywhere nearby.
I was dubious, but this a great bit of kit...
Ordered my one. And you can pay £12 a month over 5 months if money is tight. 😁
How do you get it on this £12 Monthly?

Yes.
Its a really cool multi fuction device... Considering a good clock radio alarm costs about £30, its a steal!

Shame about the stock situation....
Hi,I have one, they are good value at sale price.great for home smart equipment, but Alexa definitely not as knowledgeable as google.but you would have to pay a lot more for the new Google device .have ordered another two,at this price you can't really go wrong. 🎅

I think Google equivalent for this is either Lenovo smart display 8 or Google home display (not the max version). As far as I am aware, the Google one was/is still close to this price or maybe £10 more, so not much more difference in price. The Lenovo is pricier now, but I think AO sells them once in a while for £70, apart for a few occasions when they sold them on eBay for £50.

My house is packed with smart Alexa, the non display version. I do have 2 Lenovo smart display 8 still sealed, I will instal one after new year and the one I'm hoping to swap for a sealed Alexa Echo 8.
Brilliant bit of kit, we had 4 echo dots , changed 2 of them for these now.
Bought one for myself, my Dad and my best mate. Everyone loves it! I think it’s great for watching Prime and YouTube l, no Netflix available on it yet but hopefully at some point!

What do you use the screens for? Thinking of getting a Show to replace our Dots, but can’t think what use I’ll get

You may get the ring doorbell in the future, so you can see who is at your door. You may instal security cameras, again you can see them via the display. You can use it as a photo frame, clock, YouTube (Google smart displays are better for youtube), map when asking for directions, etc.
You still can listen to music, control other smart devices, basically they do everything the dot does but it has a display.

Thanks, I use my iPhone and iPad for all that stuff, so looks like I just saved myself some cash.

Yes, this is not something you necessarily need, it is just a matter you want one or not. You use voice commands, which you can use with Siri anyway. However, if you have smart lights, smart alarm, etc, I find it interesting to control these with my voice.

Will this connect with a ring doorbell to show who is outside ringing your bell ?
WAWG24/12/2019 13:30

Yep
Cam also use monocle and stream your CCTV rtsp feeds to ask alexa to show you your cameras. Trying to find a rtsp doorbell now as refuse to pay ring for cloud
Got 2 of these and 4 dots. Find the echo shows are really deaf though. I speak to the echo show in the kitchen, that doesn't even hear me and the dot that's 2 rooms away responds 🤪

Guessing you can't install third party apk to it like the fire stick?

Yes of course
Does YouTube only work on these via the Firefox browser and not as a built in app, as such...?

also can searches on YT be done vocally or is it needed to be typed...?

We have Echo Dots and a Echo, sound it pretty good on the Echo over the dots, and this seems interesting.

What applies for YT does the same apply also for the BBC iPlayer, via a browser and then typed searches rather than voice commands...?

Youtube is owned by Google, so you can use voice commands on Google Hub, Lenovo Smart Display or other Google assistant devices.
It works with Alexa too, but you need to use a browser and type.
My house is full of Alexa and YouTube is the only reason I've got our Lenovo. Got it mostly for the kids to use it, easier for them.
Can't comment on BBC iPlayer, I've not installed the Lenovo yet and do not own an Alexa smart display. I personally believe the Google assistant smart displays are better.

As someone else has said you can indeed. I often ask it to show my drive when the ring sensor goes off - usually the next door neighbour but I always check (new estate near a forest) like to look out for wildlife too!

Thanks for confirming what I thought.
It was one of our daughters who first bought us a Echo Dot and that sort of guided us towards the Amazon devices, and familiarity with Amazon through Prime helped.
I have been pretty ignorant of the Google alternative until I saw both the equivalent of the Dot and the Echo in one of our neighbours house.
Just on appearances I much prefer the look of the Amazon devices, more so when it came to the Echo compared to the Google divice. Perhaps the sound too, altho I do not have them side by side.

It did surprise me when I saw on one of our Grandchildrens tablet. Alexa started to provide some visual playback, as it had Alexa mode which was enabled.

From what you have noted, and I have since read, it does seem that the Google smart displays are better enabled than what Amazon is offering.
Do these run android?
Its Android, but a special Amazon version I believe
Thanks for the link OP. Just pre ordered my now
